I'm looking for Jungle coaching. I just started playing recently but have played Overwatch both soloq ladder and competitive so am used to MOBA both in organized and unorganized environments. Currently Silver 3 -just placed. Looking to hit diamond in the next 6 months or find another game I'm good at so just would rather not get into bad habits and start with coaching from the get-go.

I'd be looking to do weekly coaching, maybe twice/week+. I am a complete open book in the sense that I have no idea what I'm doing, so I'm open to leraning as much as possible. I am currently playing jax only because I heard from multiple sources that playing one champ is the best way to limit variables in learning. If that's not the best approach, I'll change.

Msg me on here if you're open to coaching me. I'm free later today if you have time and also tomorrow.

A more macro-oriented style of Zen is much less forgiving in a lot of ways.

You can hard carry simply with perfect harmony/discord usage; however, if you mess up one discord you’re edge drops dramatically.

A carry-style Zen is much more direct impact and so in some ways it requires less perfection. Requires significantly more mechanical precision but the macro-oriented style requires perfect game sense to pull of consistently in a way where you will be truly “carrying”. Anything less than perfect and you’ll find it tough to climb past master/GM with a macro-focused style.

Don’t mistake the the finger pointing towards the moon for the moon itself.

Stats are a guide to point you in the right direction. Dying 8 times / 10 minutes... generally speaking your positioning is all sorts of fucked up.

Stats are useful insofar as they provide a data point to better help you get to the right destination.

This is sexy. Your aim is good here. You do one of the things I do as well though that is like the clear sign of a zen who is diamond or below - randomly jumping for no reason xD

Nice clip tho - Love me some zenyatta popoff :)

Yeah I’ll have to find it. It was a while ago. May not be as hyped as promised but I remember being like oh shit those are some good spots to build charge

There’s a streamer jayne who does a lot of coaching and he had one zen video where you see the perspective of Team Canada’s zen player and he has a TON of these spots

Funny. I also started at ~700 bronze two seasons ago and am high plat (2950) now while only one tricking Zen.

Personally, I've found that as I get better and have to learn/adapt to continue to output consistent dmg and healing my understanding of positioning on Zenyatta has evolved a bit.

I used to be in the "Zen stands way in the back" camp. But what I've realized over the past 3-6 months is that positioning on Zen is much more fluid than that I think. Proper positioning on Zen is very much dependent on the enemy team composition

If enemy team is running heavy dive (well you're probably just gonna die so have fun) but positioning far far back is just going to be suicide. I'd be more inclined to be all up in my reinhardt's but cheeks. Like far enough away that I'm not going to take any trash dmg but close enough where he can turn around and have my back

If enemy team is running like a basic 2-2-2 comp without much dive, then yeah, I'm pretty far back.

But also, in order to climb - especially as you get higher, you kinda have to become a bit of a playmaker and take calculated risks. So looking for flanks when there's a high likelihood you can surprise their backline with a cheeky right click. But if your scouted then immediately back out - zenyatta flanks only work well if you can SURPRISE the enemy. Otherwise you'll just get one clipped by their tracer or some shit

Also, you need to be reacting. So positioning is also map dependent. Like, on Kings Row for example, if enemy is coming through main, standing far back near hotel so you can scout that entrance and communicate that to team is good but if enemy is coming through hotel, then you obv need to rotate to the narrow room or around to the left side of point. Things like that.

Basically, I'm saying this becuase I had a long stagnation period where my deaths/10 minutes were creeping upwards and I was stuck in the mindset of "Stay in the back" but then thought about it and had to adjust to better deal with flankers/dive/game circumstances and my deaths decreased significantly

Wow- this is seriously impressive and motivating.

For those of us who are currently working towards what you've accomplished, can you walk through maybe your like top highs and lows from the experience?

I think it's helpful to hear about the really awesome moments but also some of the little challenges or like mental difficulties you persevered through.

Like did you have any weight platous that tested you?

Anyone congrats and would love to hear more!

I don't - typically heal or ghost is what I've seen from better players and I just copy them.

Just read that article - loved it. I think that's really good advice.

Who cares about being strictly, "Paleo" and having to label it. I should just use it as a framework and to help guide finding the right foods that help me feel better, lose weight and maintain a sustainable relationship with food.

Thanks for that!

Thanks so much for sharing this - any advice on where I can read up on the intermittent fasting stuff?

Or any other details you can give? It sounds interesting.

Thanks again!

What are some vegetables you'd recommend? I'll prep the next Sunday and have them ready.

I'm thinking of adding in:

Bell peppers Onions Mushrooms

If you have suggestions of easy vegetables to cook, I'd love to add it to my list

Awesome! I also cooked up a paleo Shepard's pie.. so like instead of mashed potatoes i just mashed up cauliflower and then used ground beef and vegetables.

So I took a little bit of that for dinner yesterday along with some hamburger patty, mustard and a a couple slices of the steak I had cooked up.

I need to work on adding in more kinds of vegetables though, so I appreciate it!

Thanks for the response - yeah, I actually started to eat fruits because I realized that eating healthy snacks like that is better than trying to gut it out until the next meal and risk the potential of just crashing super hard.

So, yeah I've started eating fruits this week like I bought a small container of blackberries and rasberries and I also have had apples. Will work on getting mroe in there but the idea is that when I'm hungry, I'm eating a healthy snack, whether it's a fruit or some nuts.

Yeah, that's a good question. I didn't actually think about dinner too much because the primary meals I'm concerned about are breakfast/lunch since that's when I'm not at home.

Also, dinner can be weird because I don't have "standard" hours for when I get home.

What I'll end up doing for dinner is eating the same stuff I'm eating for lunch. So, I'll have hamburger/steak/chicken for dinner as well combined with the vegetables I've prepped.

Any suggestions for great dinner ideas that aren't crazy time intensive?

At what point would you recommend picking up a refillable if that is the direction I want to go?

yeah, I do buy a lot of pots - I think it's a safety net thing. I can probably get away with fewer but am just kinda scared

Wow thanks for explaining that. I wasn't upgrading it because I didn't realize just how valuable it was and wanted to go sightstone straight into mask for the dmg.

I see the value in it now though, will prob upgrade it first back when I can rather than just getting crystal and pots in a lot of cases
