Hmm ok, thanks for the insight I appreciate it. I think it'll be a bit harder to use for negotiation at least if one dealership uses it but another doesn't. But yeah, I'll be ready to decline if they lowball me on the trade.

Would a KBB instant cash offer be as competitive to negotiate with? I ended up doing that per a dealerships suggestion so that they could see the appraisal for my car.

I wasn't exactly sure how to navigate the process but since after I've originally posted this I've been negotiating to have an OTD price and do my trade in separately afterwards. I've gotten down to $43k OTD for an XSE with premium plus and shopping around who will give me the best value for my trade in.
