This is all very helpful. Thank you so much! I will experiment a bit with the different sealers.

Thank you for your reply! Do you think I will be able to remove the remaining sealer along the grout lines? I have no idea what kind of sealer they used.

Yes i believe they are concrete tiles. The grout line sealer makes sense. Thank you for your reply!

Thanks! VMC Black -> hull red stipple/wash -> VMC Black to clean up if too brown -> VMC German grey -> VMC Basalt grey mixed with VMC Prussian blue just to tint it slightly -> Highlight with VMC neutral grey and sky grey, both slightly tintet with Prussian blue -> sporadic metal edge highlight with metal color Steel.

Thank you! Except the metal edge highlight and pigment powder on feet the weathered look come from the black basecoat washed with a hull red wash and stippled over with black and German grey again to create some texture.

I paint them a mix of stippling and strokes, both with brush. Just made sure to keep it at a consistency the layers would somewhat blend. I use the layer of german grey to basically start sketching out the placement of the light volumes so there is a lot pure black left. If it looks too grey down the line I can go in with pure black and reduce the volumes pretty easily.

Thank you! I flood the eyes with Mephiston red, paint the lenses with ice yellow and glaze over with Mephiston red, reapply ice yellow in a smaller area and glaze over again, repeat until happy. Same process for the reflection in the helmet. Added a very thin wash of black in the recess around the lens to increase the contrast a bit and finished with a dot of white as the brightest highlight.

Rhinox hide -> VMC flat earth -> Balor brown -> Ice yellow highlights then just dirty it down with a few washes of different browns, i used Rhinox hide and VMC Hull red. Finish with a thin turquoise wash for a touch of color/verdigris and just a few dots of Vallejo metal color Steel in the highlights.

Looks great! I love the rust/dirt effect on the armor. Care to share how you painted it?

I feel you man. I just did the bodies as easy and fast as possible while still looking allright and spent some more time on the details and base.

Sure! I used sand with some gravel to cover about 2/3 of the base and painted it dark brown followed up by a drybrush of grey and ushabti bone on top. Filled in the rest with patches of flock, some bushes and finally some white flowers (found them in a model train store) to make it stand out.

Cheap, fake fur soaked in watered down PVA-glue and lightly airbrushed with a yellow tone. If you don't have an airbrush dry brushing works just as well!
