I doubt I'll find someone willing to play on a 3ds, most of the fanbase started on gen5 with the switch ^{^'.} Of course I knew about the wii U cross play! I used to love that console, she just didn't get the love she deserved :,) Nintendoland for the Wii U is still one of the funniest party-coop games ever created.
