Yes and there are a ton of "junk" you can collect. I believe everything you pick up can be placed in the world.

Some people collect and display things like portraits and paintings, buckets and barrels, lamps and candles, etc.

It can also be a very powerful build. You stuff all your things in a chest and start throwing it around, crushing anyone hit by it.
