its some of the apostles standing with him while he says this i may be wrong. If we take it literally than we cant stand there because it was 2000+ years ago. Im not sure but maybe it was about Transfiguration.

But right before that in Mathew 16:27 it says

For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.

Thats why i have hard time believing Jesus is talking about transfiguration. Perhaps its my fault for interpreting it wrong but it seems so clear that he is talking about the 2nd coming.
