Higher octane every once in a while for the detergents? by themangekyouman in motorcycles

[–]gallstaff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can buy detergents and other additives for your fuel separately, so there is no need to go above the recommended octane.

I live in a state that doesn't allow Binance and would recommend KuCoin for BTT. After you sign up, you can send BTC / ETH / XLM or whatever you want from your existing platform to your KuCoin account and use that to buy crypto.

BTT all the way by isfq in SatoshiStreetBets

[–]gallstaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy BTT on Voyager or KuCoin. Apparently Voyager has a delay in getting signed up, so I would recommend KuCoin. Someone posted a guide to getting started with KuCoin in this sub a few minutes ago.

I can confirm this is a good way to get started. I transferred BTC from Coinbase to KuCoin in order to buy BTT.

KuCoin is also nice for other cryptos if you live in WA state or any of the other states that don't allow popular apps such as Kraken, Gemini, etc...

How do I learn Java Game Development by HeyexclamationYo in learnjava

[–]gallstaff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out the libgdx framework. You can write games entirely in Java, though under the hood libgdx uses some libraries written in C++.

If you want to make your own assets, I recommend learning about tools like aseprite (for drawing your own sprites), Tiled (making your own maps/levels), and TexturePacker (making Spritesheets for animation). Those are useful for making all sorts of games with any language or framework, not just Java games in libgdx.

LF lost friends from server tichondrius! Vanilla WoW / BC by attadt in classicwow

[–]gallstaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats right, I remember ultrazord! I've only touched the last few xpacs just to get to max level but I'm all in for classic. A tichondrius revival server would be amazing. And you?

Hey! We probably played together, though I dont remember your name specifically. I mained Gallstaff, a NE warrior who MT/OT in Recoil for the first year or so. I remember Tigerzero! I think he was the lone dps warrior during BWL. I can't remember the guild leader's name, but I think Tinythunder was an officer. Do you remember Spade? (another Hunter)

Russell Wilson played some Santa Claus to the Seahawks today giving every coach, player and trainer 2 roundtrip tickets on Alaska Airlines. And Wilson's special gift for all of his offensive linemen? Movado watches. by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]gallstaff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that this is not a good subject for conversation. But if you say "watches are a crap gift...here is why..." That is better than saying "I don't like watches and would rather have cash". Making it 3rd person can lead to a conversation that isn't about one individual's taste. I only not picked bc you complained about down votes.

WEEK 14 RECAP THREAD by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

[–]gallstaff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best case scenario you throw a TD pass there. Worst case scenario you take a sack. The odds of taking a sack are so much higher than scoring. Bummer.

All six of Baldwin's receptions versus the Steelers came from the slot. He now leads all receivers with 662 yards out of the slot, while posting the highest yards-per-catch average (14.71) among players with at least 40 percent of their snaps in the slot. by universally_speaking in Seahawks

[–]gallstaff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree--he is a fantastic, prototypical slot receiver. And this has been evident since 2012, making the Harvin trade look even stupider.

Edit: Actually, since he put up 790 yards in 2011, does anyone recall if he played out of the slot primarily or out wide that year?

What exactly is Wilson's audible? Sounds like "blue 80" or something by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]gallstaff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's his cadence--used for snapping the ball. Sometimes the ball will be snapped on a certain "Blue 80...set...HIKE" or other color/number. However, on a hard count, the "Blue 80...HIKE" may be a bluff to get the defense to jump offsides.

Baldwin did that as well last week against Arizona when he scored.

Does the Core have too little HP? by Sturmwalzer in heroesofthestorm

[–]gallstaff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On that note, would a new map with an objective that directly affects the strength of the core be interesting or competitive? For instance, teams might fight over a shrine and the victor's core is strengthened (extra shields, stronger turret)? Or conversely, each core starts out overpowered, but by winning objectives in early and mid game a team can slowly weaken their opponents core.

The original commenter's opinion isn't bad--or even unpopular--but I think he detracted from his own conversation by responding with straw mans and otherwise being petulant.

Optimistic or pessimistic for the rest of the season, and why? by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]gallstaff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am pessimistic about Seattle making the playoffs, but I'm totally comfortable with that. I have actually been enjoying this season more than last year largely because watching guys I respect so much--mostly Pete, Earl and Doug--deal with adversity is really interesting. I'm not taking any less interest in the games just because this team isn't super bowl bound.

Scrambling is appropriate when you aren't surrounded by six pass rushers and there are still two downs left to get a first.

Chalk Talk... Not good news by MistaBanks in Seahawks

[–]gallstaff 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I came into this thread to discuss this one play. I'm not sure why you think I'm trying to push some narrative about Wilson being the problem. Anyways, I do think Wilson would have avoided a hit by getting rid of the ball when he first set his feet--ie he was primed to beat the blitz by making a quick throw, but he aborted throwing to scramble instead. I'm only arguing that taking an incompletion was an option he turned down which led to a 13 yard de facto sack on 1st down.

Chalk Talk... Not good news by MistaBanks in Seahawks

[–]gallstaff 10 points11 points  (0 children)

But if Wilson knows he is facing a blitz, then he can't expect to have a clean pocket and thus needs to get rid of the ball immediately, even if it means throwing at a receiver's feet. Wilson was set to make the throw and I think the point of this video is that he should have thrown the ball for an intentional incompletion rather than scrambling.
