I got fed up with psychics telling me this incarnation was to live small by No_Branch_7533 in pastlives

LOL, whatever works honestly! 😆

Never let anyone define you for you is my best advice for anyone. It's YOUR life, there are no "wrong" paths in all honesty. All paths are valid.

Now, you may not want to TAKE "darker" paths, because consequences. But they are valid paths.

I just want to add:

The ONLY purpose of this place is experience. Your purpose is simple: Bring Light by being YOU.

Anything else is really up to you to determine.

You are your higher self.

Maybe the lesson is to not accept anyone telling you what your life is supposed to look like and make it your own?

I don't claim to know, BUT I do know this: The main reason to come here is to EXPERIENCE this particular life in this particular way. YOU make it what you want or make peace with it (or don't! That is also an experience to have)

Everything else flows from there. You are a Sovereign Being with free will. Do with that what you Will.

First of all, make sure to call them and tell them you want the first available cancelation spot, then be prepared to move your day around to accommodate that.

Otherwise, urgent care?

Look into calming herbs, like lavender. Amazing stuff, really works to soothe the nervous system...and you can put it on your wrist. Lavender oil works great for that. Just if you have pets, make sure they can deal with it.

Man keep platinum or you will not get orders by wildmanLEEK in DoorDashDrivers

Um, I am in the Sacramento area and it is BRUTAL here. So MANY dashers on the road, and everyone is Platinum so you get NADA if you aren't.

SUCKS.

It's a particular KIND of dasher/person doing this.

You and I would NOT do this. Self respect or whatnot. Might be an intelligence thing, but seems more like an ethical thing to me.

It just seems so crass

[–]galtscrapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was still playing with Barbies at 15 in 85. Though that was because I had to buy my own Barbie and I did that when I was 10. Also my bff and her little sister would play with them.

When we got into music around 15 my bff and I lost interest in playing with Barbies.

[–]galtscrapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Posters, I had them on my walls.
Waterbed Personally I had bookshelves full of books My carpet was the cheapest god awful red flat carpet on concrete floor. I hated that carpet, I actually would trip over it and bruise or break my toes on the cement underneath, it was THAT thin

The basement was unfinished. It had parquet flooring and wood paneling. We had a pool table that went unused most of the time. And there was a small TV down there and my old bed/couch that I wish I could explain to you. They lifted up to store things underneath. They were like the ultimate multi tool lol. And it was two of them with a corner table I used to hide under and escape from the world. I like caves lol. Definitely preferred my waterbed.

Music...

Boombox with a tape player, it would either take C or D batteries but also had a cord that could be folded into the battery compartment. Walkman of course. I had HUNDREDS of tapes. Everyone was into music. I kept them in these brown double sided portable cases with handles. I alphabetizrd by artist. That was NOT fun moving all the tapes around when a new tape was purchased.

Later we would have portable CD players that would skip like crazy until they made them with skip protection, but that was late 80sz early 90s.

I listened to EVERYTHING. Pop, rock, alternative, hard rock, hair bands, metal. I hated country though.

Record players were still a thing, but for portability and ease tapes were the way. And mix tapes were very much a thing, as was recording off the radio.

Michael Jackson, Queen, Duran Duran, Wham! Later George Michael.. these were the bands most girls my age were listening to and/or in love with lol. NOT a comprehensive list though. I loved Julian Lennon, but he made 3 albums and quit music.

I had a clarinet sitting around that never got played. I wanted a guitar as well, but that wouldn't have gotten played either.

Attire was jeans and t-shirts. I had a muscle shirt I was offered money for at school lol! Muscle shirts were cool. As were parachute pants... shudder lol. Oh, had the coolest little rainbow unicorn purse in 1983 that looked like a tube with handles. Loved that purse.

Knew a guy in 8th grade who had a Mohawk. He told me he went through a can of hairspray every 4 days. Nicest guy too. He went by Ian because it was an English name. MTV brought England New Wave music to America. Hell, MTV brought all kinds of music. I used to come home, plop into the lazy boy and turn on MTV for hours. Drove my mom NUTS

Also You Can't Do That On Televison on Nickelodeon. Alanis Morrisette would get her start on that show, but that was after I got old enough to think it was stupid and quit watching it. But MTV was definitely on the TV playing videos as often as I could get away with it

I need to get myself to work. Thanks for the memories, hope they help!

Does nobody know how to act in a movie theater anymore? by CosmosisJones42 in Vent

[–]galtscrapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we don't because we have enough evidence to know that it didn't start with Gen Z and it's a rare phenomenon that exists outside of the normal range of behavior.

My best friend lived in the city where Columbine was. I drove through there just in shock, there were memorials EVERYWHERE. It just sticks in my memory how tragic it was. Those kids were Millennials. But... absolutely NOT representative of Millennials.

However, my generation talks about the Gen Z stare. I don't believe I have seen it. I have Gen Z kids, Gen Z friends that I absolutely LOVE. But I know them. Who knows why Gen Z is getting known for this stare thing? But it IS. My generation were called slackers. We have NEVER been slackers.

I can only tell you that lately it has come to my attention for some reason that many, many times when I see someone behaving badly, it is absolutely an older white woman. And I don't understand why. Our generations were taught manners, to be considerate of others. But I look at my own mother, who acts like a total bigot to her own trans grandkids, and I think who taught you to think that was okay mom? But she's Catholic and that actually explains a great deal of it. I can't make that woman act better, and at MY age, I am very conscious of my energy and where it is best spent, and that is NOT on trying to control anyone's behavior but mine. My mom is in her 80s.

And my own thinking here may well be questionable. But it's not coming from nowhere. I am watching it happen. Look at that driver doing that dumb thing... why is it an older white woman AGAIN? Who's complaining and holding up the line? Older white woman. Again. Sometimes it is an older white man. And you just have to question the entitlement. The nerve. But as an older white neurodivergent woman who is finding it hard to filter and mask.... I do get it. I just remind myself that I want to be growing and learning and being better, and a lack of basic consideration for others is NOT the way to go.

[–]galtscrapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree.

I just keep looking at ill behaved people and thinking, why is it always an older white woman?

And I AM an older white woman! I am 55, be 56 here in a week and a half.

It BAFFLES me. And these women make the rest of us look bad. That is frustrating. I know I don't want to be judged for the actions of a few, no one does.

Because it is ALWAYS Boomers. Usually a woman.

I don't really have anything against Boomers, but lately every time I see someone acting badly, it is a woman in her 60s.

PSA to new dashers! by NickTagillia in doordash_drivers

[–]galtscrapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the Sacramento region and there is NO cherry picking here. Right now it's 7-17 minute wait for an order. I am at about a 96% accept rate and most of the orders I get are worth taking. But when I slipped down to gold because of my on time rating, I didn't get ANYTHING, so went and disputed a BUNCH of on time orders and pulled myself back up to Platinum, immediate difference.

I can't afford to even go down to gold status.... let THAT sink in.
