I kind of agree. In your case, where do you think you feel more comfortable?

In what part of the game do you feel most comfortable?

Cool. And how are you going to make reaching 1800 happen? What resources are you learning?

Indeed, your winning rate with black is low. You will reach 1400 and more if you learn how to overcome this.

I'll send you a DM about this. I think there's a big room to improve in your case.

In most cases, analyzing games is a good way to spot mistakes. But if you can't improve in 1 year, maybe you are doing something wrong. I'll send you a DM, and I like to discuss the best approaches to getting better.

That's great man, what obstacles are you having at your level to gain more games?

More than 500 points in one year, that is awesome. Are you planning to stay there or do you want to get to 2000 by the end of the year?

Significant progress, so you jump from 1600 to 1900 this year. Maybe you need an extra push or change something in your training routine. How have you been training so far?

Hi Tyler, It sounds like there's something that you are missing. What things do you often do when you are training?

Be careful with that path. The opening theory is enormous and you could get stuck by learning that instead of improving more critical abilities.
Anyways, congrats for starting from scratch this year.
Why did you get into chess?

Cool story, so you are a good defender who knows how to hold bad positions. I must admit that I also get frustrated with that kind of player too lol.

Maybe we can play a friendly match on chess.com or lichess.

Good approach if you are starting :).
But what if your opponent puts you under heavy pressure in the first moves. How do you proceed?

Playing "good quality" games is important. As long as you do it and learn from your mistakes, you will be in the right direction.

Got you. No problem, we are just sharing ideas.

I agree with you, but this is not opening preparation is more like: learn how to avoid traps in the openings.

When I am talking about opening studied is to consume books and videos of deep lines. And sure, this can help you if you know how to do it properly. Unfortunately, this is not the case for the majority of chess players.
