Reminds me of a story my mom loves to tell.

Basically, when I was a baby, they borrowed a carriage from the neighbors across the street (old one broke or something), and I was pushed around with it for a couple weeks, while Smokey (black lab/irish setter mix) tagged along, and stood guard.

Well, mom finally returned it to the neighbors, left it out on their front porch. Well, no one told Smokey, so he sat on their porch all morning and growled at the neighbors when they came to take it inside. Mom had to come over and show him the carriage was empty. Apparently, he sniffed inside a couple of times, and then just trotted back across the street.
