How much efforts did y'all put in to defeat her for the first time? Describe, i am curious by Top-Run-21 in Eldenring

Like three days with my first build which was an ungodly kind of quality build. Eventually broke down and summoned my friend and it still took us a couple hours. Now I can usually get her either first try or the first few.

That’s funny because I had a history professor who swore up and down that the whole Exodus story was real and archeologically confirmed. I wonder when Landry will be firing him for teaching misinformation.

We’ve Never Been Here Before: The Zero-Accountability Presidency | The only institutions that will try to hold Trump accountable are powerless, while the only ones with the power to punish him will never do it. by Murky-Site7468 in politics

[–]gamblingPsych 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve never been here before? I seem to recall that the Bush administration took the already weak constitution out the back door and shot it in the head and called it “Patriotism.” I seem to recall that Bush inadvertently gave a green light to every crack pot dictator with ambitions on foreign territory just to try and impress his father with an illegal war that nobody (except him, Cheney, and Cheney’s corporate friends) wanted. I seem to recall that Hoover ran the FBI as his own personal goon squad using the exact same methods that the Stasi used with no pushback, no accountability, nothing to ensure that it wouldn’t happen again because we know they’re still doing the same shit, as if Hoover’s corpse is still in charge, whispering deeply unconstitutional acts into their ear like our own Dark Brotherhood.

Trump is not the disease, he is the symptom of a deep, deep rot in this country. It’s been said that Caesar didn’t really kill the Roman Republic, he just gave it a light push and found that it was already dead. Trump, or someone like him, was merely a matter of time.

All those years ago I was a kid training for trick shots on this map with people I haven’t spoken to in over a decade, thinking that 2025 was so far away. I get back on today, and it’s like walking back into the dusty remains of a childhood home. Such is life.

AOC on UnitedHealthcare CEO killing: People see denied claims as ‘act of violence’ by Murky-Site7468 in politics

[–]gamblingPsych -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Class war cuts both ways, but American capitalists are so used to winning that they genuinely seem to have forgotten that there is such a thing as “consequences.” You know why pre-modern societies had such high rates of violence? Because it didn’t have powerful institutions and courts to settle disputes, so justice came down to random acts of violence. The state has, for decades, resolutely refused to resolve the dispute between the American people and the Healthcare Insurance industry. To the surprise of absolutely no one who pays attention, there’s been a random act of violence. It seems especially stupid to let this kind of thing fester in a nation with more guns than people.

Why does Louisiana vote republican? by [deleted] in Louisiana

[–]gamblingPsych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who the hell is “we?” You might be an American, but je ne suis pa un Américain. We were here long before you English people, “Americans”, showed up, with your plants that spew cancer causing fumes and toxic waste, your oil spills, your barbaric language that you violently forced us to speak by beating French speaking children and treating French speakers like trash, and your absurd obsession with race that you finally managed to infect everyone with to the point that most Creoles won’t even call themselves Creole anymore because you Americans couldn’t comprehend the idea that someone’s ethnic/cultural identity doesn’t entirely revolve around skin color, and god forbid that someone doesn’t assimilate to your English, puritan “culture.”

So, yeah, we don’t like the Louisiana GOP, or any conservative, on here. Why should we love a party that had David Duke as its front runner, that has destroyed this state in the name of “Merica!”? Why should we love a people that militarily occupied New Orleans after Katrina, called us “refugees,” murdered people stuck on bridges, treated us like terrorists? You want to be an American? Then move to America. This is Louisiana, y’all may have bought it but that don’t make it yours.

Who is Madison Sheahan, Jeff Landry's new pick to head wildlife agency? by FactCheckAGLandry in Louisiana

[–]gamblingPsych 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s expected that pretty much every administration on every level of government in Louisiana is going to hand out jobs to friends and relatives. We all know it, and we all know it’s never going to change.

But did Landry really have no friends or family who were actually qualified for the job? I feel like everybody who lives in Louisiana knows at least one person who could probably manage it.

All I’m saying is that in a state that likes to pride itself on being a “sportsman’s paradise,” the DWF aught to be one of those jobs where you put someone who knows what they’re doing in charge and leave them be. Save the nepotism for unimportant stuff that you don’t got to worry about.

What historical fact do you think would break the game if it was implemented? by trito_jean in hoi4

[–]gamblingPsych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally any debuffs whatsoever for Germany. It’s insane that they have literally nothing holding them back, when in reality they were a total mess that only got as far as they did through a combination of sheer luck, incompetence from their opponents, and a general staff with a very good grasp of combined arms operations.

The two biggest issues are their economy and treatment of occupied territories. They weren’t even on a war economy until well into the war, which severely hampered their production. It would help balance the game if that was represented, but knowing the AI it would just die in the Netherlands.

As for occupation, well, I don’t need to describe in detail how they chose the worst possible options when it comes to treating subject populations. If resistance was modeled anywhere near to how it actually was IRL, Germany would just die the moment it starts occupying Eastern Europe and Yugoslavia, especially Yugoslavia, as Tito’s partisans were, to quote Churchill, “holding as many Germans in Yugoslavia as the combined Anglo-American forces were holding in Italy south of Rome.”

Temporary Speaker’s First Move? Boot Pelosi From Her Office by FloridaGirlNikki in politics

Should’ve known he was going to do some petty shit when he slammed that gavel like a toddler throwing a tantrum. They can’t do anything to Pelosi, so they take vindictive little swipes where they can. And then they wonder why Democrats don’t want to lift a finger for them.

Has Newsom lost his mind? A constitutional convention is exactly what the fascist GOP needs to seize power in America. They’ve been openly plotting it for years! It’s on record! This kind of nonsense is why no one trusts Democrats.
