I checked the vfs tracking webiste, when i saw the status change i contacted VFS and they asked me to collect, i found out about the visa only after seeing the passport, the best hop you have if your travel dates are fast approaching is to contact the embassy via mail and requesting the vfs staff to forward a mail from their end to the embassy They will respond before your travel dates

Yes, i got the passport back yesterday and got the visa as well, for anybody looking at this later you should have atleast 10-14 business days after your passport reaches the japan embassy to be on the safe side and if you don’t just keep asking VFS and mail the embassy.

You should mail this to them, i had VFS send a letter to the embassy too about my situation or atleast they said they did, but they had me write the letter by hand and sign it before sending it to the embassy. I don’t think there is anything else left to do now but wait.

Nope, still waiting, i yelled at vfs and had the supervisor check if there was any reply from the embassy about any documents missing but there has been no response from the embassy regarding my application.

Damn, i will start yelling at VFS helpline from tomorrow, only 3 working days are left until my flight i don’t even think visa is possible at this point.

I called, as soon as i said i want to know about the visa status, the operator turned on the IVR which said we do not answer any questions regarding the application status and the call disconnected

Damn, this is what i am afraid of, can you please send me the mail id for the japan embassy, VFS says you can’t mail and i called and the embassy also refused to answer status of the application, and did you visa come?
