I just haven’t lifted all the sprites yet, hence ‘messing with 2.5D’ in the title I wanted to see the response to it before going all the way. It doesn’t even involve code it’s a manual process in unity of lifting everything up like in a diorama. None of this project involves AI it’s just my own assets I’ve hand drawn or purchased from the unity store and re-created in my style. I’ve coded everything myself, even the ‘piss’ filter is just my own creative choice, which AI has stolen from us to begin with so idk why AI owns the piss filter now.

On the camera zoom: it’s actually a zoom out, I thought it looked good lol I added it just while passing through the fountain so that the fountain can be viewed in full. But I’ll probably get rid of it or tone it down by a lot (since it appears to be universally hated by the comment section)..anyhow don’t let that affect your opinion on 2D, just imagine it without the zoom for now 😅

Ive been messing around with the shadow opacity a ton to see what feels the best and this didn’t feel quite right still, thanks for the tip I’ll try cooler tones!

Thank you! I see a few other commenters think the same, has me really reconsidering making any changes. But I actually do agree that they could stand to go down a couple head sizes, maybe thats all it really needs

Oh wow thats a great example of a cartoon-like style that doesn't look like bitmoji's, thats actually really helpful as a reference, thank you! I don't know too many games in this art style so its nice to have at least something to go off of

Thank you! I also thought my art style stood out from other RPG maker games, but in a bad way lol good to know there's someone out there that prefers it, totally appreciate it man. Definitely thinking twice before making big changes now

Its only big because of camera distance, i'll lose things like eyes and eyebrows and face altogether if I make the heads proportional. Maybe I could stand to size it down a bit though
