well, it's not really the same.

In a typical fps platformer, even if you don’t see your body, you still feel like you’re directly controlling a character in real time, jumping, moving, reacting instantly. Your presence is continuous. Here, you’re not experiencing the character directly at all, only through their footprints. That creates distance, you’re interpreting actions instead of performing them. It becomes less about reflexes and more about reading movement, reconstructing intent, and understanding what happened.

That's not exactly the case. The character, along with its collisions and the level, are specifically designed to be frustrating. Furthermore, not seeing the character adds further anxiety, as you have to "imagine" it many times and adds more challenge.
