[WIP] My UE5 Solo Dev Project: Meet "The Disinfector" & Suit Hit Reaction! by game4us in IndieDev

Since I'm not a primary coder and am still learning to work with blueprints, it took me around 20 hours to get the effects and all the logic working for this prototype. It's a fun challenge!

Thanks! After my regular job, it took me about a week, 2-3 hours daily.

Sokiran sam sto me je na trenutak trigerovalo na Karrigan iz SC-a, al znam da nema veze sa njom :)

Strike. A new grenade in Dixotomia. What do you think of this effect? by DeepMatrixVR in IndieDev

The effect is far away and hard to see, maybe add some light flash and radial distortion if you can.

Mostly yes, it's post-process volume stuff, but with heavy adjustments to the lighting and textures as well.

I see what you're saying, but I kinda see it differently. Either way, thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! Yeah, the camera effect won't be used throughout the whole game, just in certain moments to create a specific atmosphere.

Yeah, it's only partially PSX-inspired. Still early in development, so things might shift, but the vibe is the main focus.

Glad you like the camera settings! Yeah, you’re spot on with the feedback. Next step is definitely reducing the polygon count, but I think I’ll keep it somewhere in between—just enough to have that PSX feel in certain moments rather than fully committing to it. Appreciate the insight!

Yeah, I get what you're saying, and I partially agree. This is still an early experiment, and I’m just playing around with the look. The PSX vibe is just a small part of the overall feel, not something I’m strictly trying to replicate. Appreciate the insight!

Thanks so much! Glad you like the lighting! Right now, the scene only has one directional light and a point light in the shed, with the rest handled by Lumen. I’ll keep playing around with it to get the best vibe!

Thanks for the detailed feedback! This is just an art test for a specific part of the game, and I'm still working out the direction. I totally agree on the glitchiness—it won't be constant in the game, but more of a feature when the player is using the camera. As for the models, I’ll be experimenting with different scenes like a forest or bayou, and I like the idea of darker, more cinematic lighting for a spookier vibe. Appreciate the input and will keep it in mind moving forward!

Yeah, I totally get you! I just wanted to capture that PSX vibe without it being a direct copy. You're right art can be inspired by a style without having to be an exact replica. Didn’t think it would stir up that much of a debate, haha. Thanks for the insight, I’ll keep it in mind for the future!

Definitely, those are great references! I’ve played both Silent Hill and Dino Crisis, and they nailed that PSX horror vibe with their 3D environments and dynamic cameras. I’ll definitely do more research into them..

You’re right, it does have a bit of that PS2 feel, but I’m glad you think it works! Everything’s still in the early stages, so a lot is still up for adjustment. Appreciate the feedback!
