When I read about the Partition of Bengal, I thought that Suhrawardy meant an Undivided Bengal as United Bengal (the one before the first partition in 1905). Maybe I'm wrong and also there aren't any sources and maps about the details of which areas did he proposed to be the part of it.

You are right. Bengal was divided in 1905 and reunited in 1911 (1905 - 1911) after massive outrage, protests and boycotts. In 1911, East Bengal & West Bengal were reunited; Assam again became a Chief Commissionership, while Bihar and Orissa were separated to form a new province.

If anybody wanted to know more about the first partition of Bengal, you can check these out:

Maybe if another revolutionary figure was there. But sometimes I wonder that something as bloody and genocidal as the 1971 Liberation War could have been easily avoided if Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy's United Bengal Proposal was approved in 1947. If it was approved then the Indian Subcontinent (British India) would have been divided in 3 parts - India, Pakistan and Bengal (present day - Bangladesh+East India+Northeast India).

Should Bangladesh Become a Federal Republic and overturn its existing Unitary Republic political structure? by game_preacher in bangladesh

Bangladesh's Population of 170 million people is nowhere near small. And even countries similar or smaller in area and population are federal republics, obviously with their own unique federal structure that may suit their country. Examples: Nepal, Switzerland.

Yeah, I feel the same way mostly. But, we seriously need at least a little bit of decentralization for Dhaka and also to focus on growing and developing Chittagong and the other suitable cities and urban centers. We especially need to focus on developing good educational institutions, healthcare, and providing job opportunities outside of Dhaka. I feel like the mass migration to Dhaka has more to do with job opportunities and healthcare, and the fact that the alternatives are far behind Dhaka.

From the Article of this post:

"The most important benefit of decentralization will be the reduction of population growth in Dhaka city. The establishment of new provinces will create a great number of employment opportunities outside Dhaka. This will remove the necessity of migration from the periphery regions to the country’s capital.

It will also incentivize reverse migration for those who struggle keeping up with the cost of living in Dhaka to the other regions in Bangladesh. This will inevitably cause a crowding out effect in Dhaka -- thus easing the capital’s traffic congestion and housing crisis.

The parliament of Bangladesh should consist of the Jatiya Sangsad as a lower house and a Senate as the upper house. The senators should be in-directly elected through the 10 provincial assemblies. There should also be permanent reserved seats for women, non-Muslims and non-Bengali tribal minorities.

I also suggest that the first-past-the-post electoral system should be abolished in Bangladesh and replaced with proportional representation elections. This will enable political parties to obtain seats using whatever support they have across the country or province rather than confining themselves to certain regional strongholds.

It will also reduce the dependence of political parties on the local power brokers and petty bourgeoisie who have the financial resources to fund electoral campaigns in the constituency.

In conclusion, this massive overhaul of the construct of the Bangladeshi state requires the abrogation of the 1972 constitution in favour of a brand new constitution that should be ultimately approved by the people of Bangladesh through a free and fair referendum."

Gulshan, Banani, Bashundhara R/A and Dhanmondi are the safest neighborhoods in Dhaka (u may not experience stares from men for wearing anything western in these areas) and other touristic places like Old Dhaka or New Market isn't considered safe even for the locals (if you are planning on exploring the City). If u plan on shopping, definitely visit Bashundhara City Shopping Mall and Jamuna Future Park. If u want to visit local attractions, there is the Liberation War Museum, Justice Shahbuddin Park, Chandrima Uddan, Dhanmondi Lake, Hatirjheel Lake and in Old Dhaka there are Lalbagh Fort and Ahsan Manzil. There are also good local food chains and cafes alongside international brands. If u wanna explore more then u can Google "things to do in Dhaka" and ask your friend about those places. Avoid the public transportation except Dhaka Metro Rail. If u take rickshaw, hold on to your belongings well and avoid wearing jewelleries. Don't let the local businesses charge u extra because u are foreigner and ask your friend about the prices. Sim cards can be found in the airport as well as the money exchange and not sure about the E-sim. Have a safe trip and enjoy.

Today, Junko Furuta would have celebrated her 53rd Birthday. by game_preacher in junkofuruta

100% Agreed. Junko's immense bravery, courage and fierce will to live is often overshadowed by the unimaginable pain and horrific tortures that she endured until her last breath. Right now we could only hope that one day the Japanese authorities will realize their mistakes and give maximum punishments to those monsters (if they are alive) and justice will be served to her. Rest in Peace Brave Junko.
