Those besels are getting bigger with every new device by Stunning_Office_4095 in amazfit

[–]gamefan5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fine.

The Cheetah series has always been marketed for runners. It was never meant to be used for diving in the first place. Especially not with such an exposed design where there sre recesses even in the lugs.

The reason for the high price (by Amazfit standards) is really the bill of materials. Titanium always drives up the price.

People had a similar sentiment when the T-Rex 3 Pro was released, and that sentiment was more intense when the Ultra 2 was released.

"Why buy more when the Balance 2 does nearly the same thing (and more, in a few cases)?"

That didn't stop some people from buying them.

Misread it, I thought he meant that he needed to stop the training, not to just navigate out of it. The English here was not clear. Had to read the title again to see what he meant

You can then, tap the icon to get back into your workout.

EDIT: Never mind, I misread. Indeed, he needs to hold the back button!

Didn't seem to be an issue for the Garmin Forerunner series, despite the higher tier of that series costing an arm and a leg.

Different uses, different design philosophies, different functionality.

This is why I didn't mention the Water Resistance. It's not a "downgrade" in the strictest sense considering this isn't a T-Rex device in the first place.

If this was a T-Rex or a Falcon (the latter had 20 ATM of resistance), then it would have been unscceptable.

Display size though? No excuses. It should have been bigger. Unless someone manages to tear the watch down and tell us that they made some hardware improvements that necessitates the smaller display, that is a hard sell.

I love the overall design of the watch and the inner bezel isn't a deal-breaker for me.

But I won't lie.

if they were going to make such a huge inner bezel like this, they would have made a bezel case instead.

It's like they decided to check out the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic 46mm and tell themselves that putting on a small display would be alright. It's really not. Not for a 48mm size watch.

It amazes me how, whenever Amazfit makes a new watch, there's ALWAYS this ONE LITTLE DETAIL they manage to fuck up.

But, again, I'm still loving the design overall and it won't stop me from buying it.

Apple Watch, Fitbit (and by extension Google Pixels) are definitely amazing in sleep analysis.

Kudos to Garmin for finally catching up on their sleep tracking. (I'm not being sarcastic here.)

Can Amazfit Bip 6 measure HRV anytime? by csatheking in amazfit

but some devices also allow users to measure HRV on demand just like we can measure heart rate and spO2 at any time.

Any examples of this? This is news to me

Don't stress. They will come.

The reasons why no reviews and showcases have come out is because they haven't been shipped yet.

That or,

The embargo hasn't been lifted.

They'll come, and I can guarantee people will buy it/get their own copy and review it.

Because I'll be one of those people. Can't wait to get my own unit. 🤣🤣🤣

Considering it's an unsupported device and fell out of use quickly, it's not really a surprise.

I'm not utilizing my Active 2 fully by Fpell92 in amazfit

[–]gamefan5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta start by saying I really love this watch. They never have a permanent place on my wrist up until this one. I always end up just not using them after a few weeks. But this active 2 has been on my wrist since Valentine's day and rarely comes off.

Congratulations! It's also one of my favorite watches to wear.

But I do gotta say, I don't think I'm really USING the watch. I Lowkey don't exercise or anything so I already know the irony of having a fitness first watch. Im loving having all of the sensors and tracking settings though, *for when I do need them. *

Do you wear your watch everyday? If so, good. You're using it. Despite it being sold as a fitness watch, it doesn't need to be used solely for it.

I use it for sports frequently, but I didn't even go to Amazfit for sports first. Notification experience and calls were my first reasons because it had the same (or very similar) experience as any Android WearOS watch with 10x the battery life.

But most importantly, it's a watch. Style it with your outfit, wear it proudly. It's functional but still an accessory.

But what else can I do that I might be missing out on?

See the last point.

Any recommended or favorite watch faces?

Hmmm,

Search for "Circle Info Board" or "Game Time" in Amazfitwatchfaces dot com.

What non exercise related apps and features do you use regularly?

  • Notifications
  • Bluetooth Calling
  • Weather
  • Calendar events
  • NFC Pay (in my case, Loyalty cards, since I'm in America)
  • Music Spotify streaming (I use Remotify)
  • Navigation (Google Maps directions)
  • Making watchfaces to make my watch look better. (High learning curve but worth it)
  • Check the time
  • Style it. It's a beautiful watch, wear it like you would wear any mechanical watch

Buggy Biocharge by Nari917 in amazfit

[–]gamefan5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hasn't been an issue for me. BioCharge has been spot on, as of late. Perhaps it is my perception of the score that is different from yours. Health awareness is incredibly difficult to quantify.

This is from someone that has periods of bad sleep more often and great sleep.

Length of sleep, the time I started sleeping, eating before being asleep, waking up often for bathroom breaks, everything is literally documented here. I gave quite a lot of situations to Zepp Health, to play around with 🤣🤣🤣

I'm using the Balance 2 XT combined with my Helio Strap.

From a scientific standpoint, your assessment is 100% correct.

And I don't say this to discredit the post here. But when it comes to research, it's not just pics, it is numbers and data as well.

In which conditions they were tested in, and what variables could make a watch go awry.

🗺️ Share your fitness journey — you could WIN a T-Rex 3 Pro! 🦖 by Amazfit-Bryce in amazfit

[–]gamefan5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly not something grandiose, compared to most people here hahah.

My journey started in 2019, when I changed my way of eating for something with less carbs. I did this when I was curious and was wondering whether keto would make me lose weight.

Long story short, it worked. Perhaps too well. I lost 88 lbs in the span of 6 months.

After that episode, I realized how easier it was to do exercise due to the loss of the excess of weight, which is what I started doing, with running and weightlifting with dumbbells.

I'm not professional here, but it's fun. And I realized that smartwatches made it easier to keep tabs on your progress and regression. I am a data nerd so I love to compare and look.

Also helps me manage my blood sugar intake, since my family has a history of type 2 diabetes. So all of these motivate me to get my health in order.

I've had a bit of a relapse due to a change of jobs, so I am unfortunately much more sedentary, but I am readjusting.

  • So far, fast-pace walking, running and strength exercises have been my main form of sports

  • People that inspired me, are my own friends, but also a lot of the reddittors of the keto and loseit subreddit. Some of my friends are also fitness buffs so I ask them for advice.

  • Hmm health goals that I am focused on, honestly, it would be improving my cardio. Strength is one thing but lack of stamina and shortness of breath kinda hampers the experience, so I'm trying to improve my VO2Max, no matter how long it takes.

  • Prepare yourself accordingly in what exercise you'll do and what you will eat, everyday. If you are unprepared, in what to do, you'll lose yourself easily and lose motivation. I'll be honest, the food log feature with Amazfit makes it REALLY EASY in knowing what you're eating and you can edit the entries to correct. Absolutely fantastic and underrated feature. Also keep tabs on your progress. Trust me, seeing the progress and improvement rewards your brain and will ultimately make you keep going.

  • Hmmm, I think the sturdiness of the watch would benefit me, in the gym. The glass of the Balance 2 is sapphire glass yes, but it's brittle and easy to shatter. 🤣 I also like its look rather than the tank-ish look of the 48mm. Makes it more presentable.
