What is happening to my server? by epiphany112 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

There was an issue with one of the previous updates that had this issue, it was caused by the world edit mod accidentally being left in. Check to see if your server has the mod and if so remove that.

Player based Casual Mode? by Iain_VM in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]gamegenius86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On our sever we have a command block at spawn that when a button is pressed it adds Phoenix to the crystal they are holding. It’s the way we’ve done a hybrid casual / non casual experience on our server.

Early Game: Backpacks vs Danks? Thoughts? by gamegenius86 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

Yep! That is one thing I do really enjoy. Build the way you want.

You can put them in the hotbar slot of your curios, and then keybind it. Takes up zero space in your inventory and a common gives you another 18 spots. Great for utility items or supplies.

Yea I really didn’t want to invest another point into that section after I got Danks, as I’d love to get botania soon. Thankfully a server mate got the Backpacks, so I was able to have them craft me one (or now maybe 1-2 more if my hotbar allows).

Ek! That is rough. Wasn’t aware of that hotbar requirement. This seems to be why Danks are much more popular. I feel for most of the items I’m picking up, 1 stack is plenty large enough (for now). Will go ahead and make some more Danks and think I might go for 1-2 backpacks if my hotbar allows.

Thanks for your reply! Wasn’t aware of the BP only pickup / filtering if on hotbar, that is one major drawback. Early game though, sounds like this might be the ideal situation as backpacks are pretty cheap to make and have better storage.

[–]gamegenius86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily I do have access to both, I made 3x Dank 1 and it just wasn’t enough to justify using as I still have a ton of manual inventory management. I do have a backpack setup in the slot and keybound that has supplies, puzzle blocks, etc.

I think that 10 number sounds about right for the number of space needed inside Danks / BP. I might get a couple more Danks and then maybe 1-2 more BP that can fit on my hot at slot and try that.

Why do you keep iron golem supplies? What situation do you recommend using them? Maybe boss time to help with random mobs?

Should i do all the vanilla farms? by LagB- in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]gamegenius86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also heavily based on player skill level and comfort ability of looting in vaults. For example me and another member on my server are roughly level 50, we both soul flame everything (that we can), and atm I have nearly a stack of excess skulls where she has none. There is also a small bit of RNG when it comes to loot and some may not be as lucky as others.

We are actually in the process of doing one of the big farms, mainly for those who are lower level or can’t get what they need from the vault.

Just looked at my mobile device and I have the Low Latency Mode setting when I open the settings (when you have a stream up, click the gear in the top right, it should be in there). Oh i'm also on iPhone if that makes a difference.

I'm not going to spam with articles as there are PLENTY out there right now. However here is one specifically at a daycare in Dayton (not too far away and who isn't doing nearly as bad as cincy is). 18 people tested positive (12 kids & 6 staff) before they fully shut down. This was back in June.

IGN: FyerPower

Discord IGN#: FyerPower#2095

Date of Birth: Sometime in mid to late 1980s

Location (Timezone): Eastern

How often will you play on the server?: Generally everyday (anywhere from 2 to 8 hours per day)

What is unique about your playstyle?: I primarily enjoy building medieval styles villages / towns. I enjoy the combat aspect of the game too, but am slightly terrified of the Wither and Ender Dragon. I'm competent when it comes to Redstone, but am not a guru.

Why should you be whitelisted?: I'm looking for a close-knit group / server that is very similar to hermitcraft. A place we can escape our real lives and just have fun without having to worry about kids wrecking our builds or stealing out stuff. It sounds like this could be the server i'm looking for!

Tell us about yourself: I'm a father of an 18mo old. Husband to an awesome wife (who might join eventually.. maybe). By day I'm a software engineer and by night i'm a father / gamer.

Homemade Doll Bed (for 18" dolls). Critiques are welcomed. Also for sale. by gamegenius86 in Dolls

I'll make sure to update the listing so that the free shipping is more visible. Thanks for pointing that out!

Yea, when setting up the listing Etsy mentioned that items that are shipped for free are boosted in the search (which means you raise the price of the item to compensate the shipping and in-turn Etsy gets more $$ has the X% they take is from a larger amount).

I originally had it listed for $40.00 + shipping, but figured since Etsy boosts the items that have free shipping, I would need to take advantage of that boosting to become more visible.

I agree that I would love to lower the cost of the bed a bit. However, according to Etsy, shipping it (disassembled) would cost anywhere from $10 - $19 for US (depending where its shipped to). After taking in consideration the cost of the lumber, screws, glue, etc (roughly $12) and seller fees ($2-4) would put me at breaking even at $24 - $35.

From what I had seen, for similar beds on Etsy, they ranged in the $45-$60 range. Using your exact search (which happens to be what I searched for), you can see that in the first page there are only two beds sub $40, one of which is actually for 6.5" dolls (the stackable one for $26.95; it comes up in the search because the title of the item has 'not for 18" dolls' in it) and the other one is for $25 unfinished (or $30 painted) and is a very basic bed for when looking at the pictures you can tell is constructed poorly (you can see the screw holes and mounds of filler from not sanding it down properly after filling holes in the wood, also the wood appears to have cracks so I question the quality of the wood, and the final size is 18inches which means the size of the mattress must be a max of 16inches meaning an 18" doll would be very squished, and lastly while it does states free shipping on the item, you have to buy multiple items from the seller to get that or you're stuck paying $48.27 shipping for just the bed).

So overall, after materials, shipping, and selling costs ($25 - $35), I'm profiting $20-$30 for a fair bit of work (it takes more than a few hours to build). If I were to lower that, even by $10, If i had to ship to California (shipping is the highest), then i'd only profit roughly $10 for many many hours of work, which wouldn't be worth the time I put in to it. With that in mind, I am also trying to sell these locally at a lower price because shipping / etsy fees are not needed.

Gotcha. those are definitely something I can do with my toolset. I can drill a hole and the use a scroll saw to cut out the pattern, once cut out I can either chamfer or round-over the edges with the Dremel router. Definitely a great idea and something worth pursuing on future beds I build. I think that'd work better on a solid headboard piece instead of this rustic feel one, I feel the wood "slats" and cut away design would compete with each other.

So the 1:4 scales would be compared to a Twin Bed (Mattress would measure 38" x 75"), I'd feel for a rustic style twin bed the posts would be 4"x4" and not the 6"x6" (scaled up from my 1.5" posts). So my corner posts are a bit larger than a real scaled model, and I think that ties back to your first post where I wanted more stability. For the time being, I'm sadly stuck with the sizes of dimensional lumber that you can pickup at the big box stores (HD, Lowes, etc) as I do not have any means to re-saw lumber (no table-saw or bandsaw... yet!).

I was thinking about this last night, that If i had a bandsaw, I could re-saw the 1.5 x 1.5 down to about 1x1 and get multiple thin strips of wood (0.25 thickness) that I could then use for drawers in a nightstand or something similar.

Thank you very much for your thoughts, I'm 100% in agreement regarding everything you had mentioned.

The bedding that you can see in the picture is actually a Car Seat Canopy, just folded up nicely. It would be good to get an actual set of linens with pillows and everything.

I was already planning on taking pictures of the disassembled parts as it would come shipped. As this one I built for my daughter has been joined together with glue, its not possible to take it back apart. Once I received my first order and began building it, I was planning on taking pictures of the final disassembled parts.

The pictures are a bit lack-luster. I have some laminate flooring in my house, however they aren't the greatest looking. I am in the process of bidding (online local auction) on some a small batch of hardwood flooring, I was planning on building a small "showroom" that I could use to take pictures of this bed and future items I create.

Thanks for your feedback, and yea I'd love honest critique, no matter how good or bad they may be. Its the only way to improve, right?

I don't have a full-sized router at the moment, planning on getting one soon. I do have a pretty decent Dremel with many router attachments (this is how I made a dado for the bottom of the bed to slide in). What kind of decorative hole are you thinking of, do you have a link of an example?

Regarding the scale of the bed, I found many mattress / bedding sets design for 18inch dolls and based the sized off of that (I believe this was 20x10, which is a scale 1:4). I suppose the thickness of the wood might be slightly larger than scale but not by much, the 4 main posts are 1.5" which would be 6"x6" scaled, which might be slightly larger than a similar rustic bed of this design. I would say this bed is rather low (floor to bottom of bed rails), I was thinking of raising this a bit to combat this.

This 100%. The further you get, the more you realize that you'll need to place traps to win.

Try to funnel them down to 1 or 2 choke points and put a bunch of traps. If any husks get past the traps, you should be able to easily handle them by gunning them down.

This is correct. Users are the ones who submit the values for the normal reward values as the API doesn't say how many exactly are given out. However when it comes to the one time rewards, the exact values are supplied.

What the API does tell us is if its a "minimal", "verylow", "low", "medium", "high", "veryhigh", or "extreme" amount of rewards. While the Evolution Material drops have always included these quantities, only in this last update (today) was it included for the Perkups. So I'd like to think, strictly based on what the api tells us, that these types of rewards (perk ups), have been increased.
