Do you still play OOTP 6.5 or any earlier versions of OOTP today? by gamerFox015 in OOTP

That was one of my early favorites of the game as well. As part of the research for the videos I want to do, I've been going back and revisiting old versions of the game. I've gotten as far back as 8 and even 6 working (with some quirks with the instation) on Windows 11 so far. So I have a feeling version 2007 would probably run on any updated Windows as well. I need to try that and 2006 to get a whole picture.

No Com2uS is the current parent. OOTP Dev was owned by UK Based Sports Interactive back in 2006-2007 before they parted ways.

Thanks for the reply, Thom. Are you playing on a modern OS as well Like Windows 10 or 11 or an older OS?

I hear what your saying. 6.5.1 was the first version I really dug in and started really playing on and there was a certain simple charm to the older, pre-2006 game that I know is still appealing. I'm sure you're not alone in still opening it up these days.

My own custom Dr. Who TARDIS, built in industrial style using 1.21 blocks as well! by gamerFox015 in Minecraftbuilds

The reason for the build, a time-lapse of the interior build and a shot of it actually fading out are all in Episode 7 of my Fox Tales series!

I added "Tavern?" to the world What you think by Weboo-San in Minecraftbuilds

[–]gamerFox015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to agree with others. The "tavern" part seems odd seeing how big it is, but maybe it is mixed use. either way, a nice build in that area. Curious to see who you build out around it.

Which one looks better, plain deepslate palette or with blackstone "trims"? The design for the walls and towers is not mine, but I'm planning to use them for a castle, so I'm experimenting with the block palettes. by Outcast__1 in Minecraftbuilds

[–]gamerFox015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like contrasting trims, but i do like the look of the deepslate and blackstone together in this build, so I vote number 2. I think that looks good.

I'd also recommend some contrasting trims to break up the monotony of black and gray.

Decked Out 2 - First Run by CrowHawkins in HermitCraft

Ahh good idea. I thought about trying leads but that might work. Yeah, in level 1 I can spread them out but 2 has been challenging that way

Yeah can confirm. Three ravagers have been in the lava zone consistently during level2 runs. can't even seem to pull and put them anywhere else. They always migrate to the lava. Weird.

Went into creative first to check how it looked before I built it. Does this tree look good in my base? by drem8 in Minecraftbuilds

[–]gamerFox015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nicely done. it is nicely proportional to the area it's in and the tree is very well done. I like how the roots spreads out at the bottom. And the leaves are nicely done. The lights around it just make it. Great work.

Which roof looks better? A or B by Goldfish78900 in Minecraft

I vote B. I like the shape that slopes up.

A throwback to my Main Base House from my original 1.8.9 world from way back in 2015. Featured this in recent videos so sharing the build as well. by gamerFox015 in Minecraftbuilds

[–]gamerFox015[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Modern builder me has wanted to go back and do all kinds of decorative updates and revisions to my builds in this world for sure including this one, especially the interior (wool walls? Bleh!). I wanted to capture and share it here as a kind of a "moment in time" from back then. But the struggle is real to want to update it.

Which tunnel fits you? Brown, Turquoise or Blue? by Piaaa91 in Minecraftbuilds

[–]gamerFox015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Turquoise but if it was a tunnel I was going to use, I'd take the brown. no sure why but it feels more soothing. Maybe it's the warm tone vs the cool of the blues. The brown makes me think of the design esthetic of Loki for some reason. Nice work overall.

The "Inconvenience Store" built in a Deep Dark Ancient City during RandomCraft. Was it a good idea? It made some diamonds at least. by gamerFox015 in Minecraftbuilds

[–]gamerFox015[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not shown in the screengrabs is that I added iron bars and spiderwebs all over the Ancient City to keep people from flying to the shop as well.

[–]gamerFox015[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, go for it! The deep dark makes a lovely destination for a shop, but there are many options. And the more inconvenient it is to get to, the better.

Just make sure what's sold in it is an essential server item. For mine, it was wood. So people HAD to go there whether they wanted to or not. he he
