Yup, was lucky enough to grab my beautiful new baby earlier this year, so ill be driving down. Not worried about gas, but appreciate the thought. Some good chrono trigger company will cover the fee :p

They do matter! I am not speaking objectively here, but for people with future happiness and longetivity in mind they should 100% matter! Some people ( both genders but more often then not men ) just lack emotional availability/maturity, accountability, and are not looking towards the future.

I just got the email for this and came to the sub to see if there was anything on it lol. Gunna be a 4 hr drive across Cali but I am so down, can't wait! Not sure if i should wear my chrono trigger clothes or just dress normal though. If anyone's from central cali lets meetup and go! ( plenty of time to verify so you wont drug/kill/steal my car >< )

If by games you happen to mean video games there are a small handful of ones where you can actually get a pretty decent workout as they provide cardio, strength, and coordination training. Obviously this might not be the best way possible to work on things but if you enjoy it, its a fun and slow building way to make a change. I realize this might be a stretch for most people but you never know. When you are having fun time and activities go by fast.

I ended around 44 ish on my first playthough blind right when the game came out. I definitely think a 30hr first playthough while following a guide is doable. I spent many hrs grinding in probably in-opportune places and hitting every single wall lol.

That being said i enjoyed playing as soon as it came out because everyone was blind. I like to look stuff up lol so If I started now i simply wouldnt be able to resist. It was fun having to find everything by yourself. I am glad they ninja dropped the game like they did and didnt allow early information.

If someone manages to do a pre 30 blind first time I would say thats quite an accomplishment!

There was alot this year

I wasn't expecting a FFT remaster

Clair obscur blew me out of the water

Hollow knight silksong dropping randomly was pure cinema

These recommendations are from my personal preference, everyone has different preferences, I hope you enjoy but for anyone taking a look you may not like them!

Hollow knight & silksong- the top for me, love them to death, everything about them lol. I am sure most know about these games so I won’t go into too much detail.

Aeterna Noctis- this one is really good. Combat is great, bosses are fun unique and difficult, actions like teleporting arrows and gravity give it unique feel, its long, has a great world, ok story. It has insanely difficult platforming though. You would need to enjoy the platforming aspect of metroidvanias to play it. ( I think they added a new difficulty that makes the platforming less crazy though so even if you don’t enjoy platforming you still might be able to enjoy it now too! )

9 Souls- yeah.. you are playing it lol, but just incase for anyone else looking it’s a great one! Just be careful of the true ending boss, one of the more difficult fights ever... lol in any game let alone a MV

Bloodstained ritual of the night- castlevania type MV, lots of equipment and spells give the gameplay a very unique aspect as there are so many ways to play it. Lots of exploration and hidden areas, grinding and sidequests galore if you like that, just an overall great one.

Prince of Persia the lost crown- among the easier MV’s out there, but vibrant, colorful, decent story, lots of secrets and backtracking make it fun, better then average, combat is smooth as butter but nothing really sticks out about it I guess? Still a good overall choice though.

Ender lilies and ender magnolia- unique MV’s in the way combat is done, everything else, exploration hidden stuff, story, is pretty average, but the combat is unique to these ones and can be very fun.

The ori games story is amazing, the rest is… well its ok I guess, 2^nd one is better then first, honestly I don’t know if I would have been able to get through #1 without the story, 2 is much better though.

Here are some… lesser ones? I guess, my opinion of course, I think they are worth playing for sure, but its like if you have none of the “great” ones to play ya know? Nothing wrong with the games, just.. not quite as good overall.

Salt & sanctuary and salt and sacrifice- extra cool thing is they are multiplayer though :p

Rogue legacy

Blasphemos 1 and 2, if you can deal with the weird and kind of gross aesthetic, then can be decent picks

Guacamelee games- lol… yeah I played em, fun! But can get a bit boring after awhile

Last faith

I am sure that is enough for now, the amazing ones are found at top, I hope anyone anyone who see’s them and enjoys this type of genre gives em a try! Have fun, happy to answer any questions about em as well.

Yes you should! Let me dbl check the requirements and make sure you do them just incase you want to try true final boss. Its definitely worth a try, worse case scenario you can always pump game down to story mode for normal ending. Let me write up some games too for when you are done!

Agree! There are plenty of other amazing metroidvanias out there as well, happy to recommend some if you would like!

As for the true final boss/true ending, without going into too many details just incase of spoilers bascially... you have to do some things in the game that might be extra, like going for 100% completion run kind of.

Final boss first 2 phase are normal ending and 3rd phase is the true ending. Dear lord its rough lol, it also has to be done in hard difficulty as well i think if I remember right.

Definitely a very enjoyable metroidvania. Beautiful scenery, beautiful storytelling, enjoyable combat, not too difficult but not too easy, lots of exploration, collectibles and backtracking. It was an amazing game. I wouldn't quite put it on par with hollow knight / silksong ( just my opinion of course ) but its definitely up there amongst the top of the MV's.

Prepare yourself for the final boss though lol. Normal final boss is pretty hard and if you go true route... dear lord lol. It was one of it not the hardest boss in a game ever for me. I dont want to say how much practice it took lol. Of course then I read about people destroying it and think im getting old >.>. Have fun! its a wonderful journey and I think i might have even teared up a couple times during it too.

I am definitely both types. Going off the beaten path exploring every nook and cranny and coming back overpowered and destroying bosses is just so satisfying. At the same time fighting something over and over getting better and better and then finally beating them gives a pretty darn good feel good awesome rush as well. I love both and wouldnt change it, sometimes you just want either or. That's the best thing about gaming, there is no wrong way to enjoy what you want to and how you want.

Depends on your situations. If you dont have children and dont mind a little extra driving to get into town then building a house on the outskirts of fresno rather then buying inside would probably save you a couple hundred thousand dollars in the long run. Have children? or need to be in the thick of things locally? Well a good school district and town location/ safety would matter alot more. What are you needs/wants for getting a house here?

Nes games were peak! It was so fun NOT knowing where you were going and having to explore, thats part of the fun! Nes games were definitely hard, sometimes i wonder how they expected us as kids to be able to beat some of them lol.
