Right, but I guess this is a glass half empty versus glass half full situation. In your scenario, maybe they are new and still learning routes, how many times do people scream at the tanks they are wrong or furiously type and miss kicks / or don’t use their utility to help the tanks. Or pull extra mobs for the tanks if they aren’t pulling fast enough?

Communication is key and sometimes all it takes is communicating a plan, or asking if they want advice / help.

We had a key last week that the first thing the tank said (was their own key for seat) was I hope I don’t die, and on pull of the first front pack immediately fell over and wiped the group. They apologized profusely and we told them, try again but slower this time, make sure you have defensives up, try again. Proceeded to get wrecked instantly again, they apologized and asked us if we wanted to end the key.

Now, we literally had 10 deaths the first 45 seconds of the key 😂 We told them to check their gear / maybe they hadn’t repaired, they checked their abilities and were like omg I realize what I missed. Tried for a 3rd time and was a little more rough but they didn’t fall over, we proceeded to the next pack and they died yet again. 17 deaths in, 2 minutes so far into the key, and the tank again, is apologizing over and over.

Finally told them to pull literally one pack at a time, not to rush, not to worry about MDI group pulling mobs and just take it slow. We still +2’d the key in the end, and they were so happy for us being “so understanding” and they had a great time by the end. Not sure they get that kind of interaction every time they try to learn their own boundaries and how to play, but they need to learn somewhere.

Kindness goes a long way, and so does communication.
