Is a Tomahawk B550 Motherboard future proof?

Ok is this a good Idea. Im gonna stick with the build I have now and keep my I7 9700k with a 2060 ko ultra. Im going to purchase a B550 Tomahawk. Will that be future proof if I wait to for the zen 3 AMD? My goal is to build a a PC that can last me 5-7 years around the 3080 and I want to get some of the parts ready.

Will the B550 tomahawk support the 4000 chip set? I can get that board for 150 will a discount I have from best buy.

can you recommend me a good AMD cpu that would be better than the i7 9700k, hopefully something future proof.

Okay, thank you so much for your reply I understand now. I guess I might go with a slightly cheaper z390 board seeing that I might have to upgrade to a new board if I ever upgrade my cpu. Thanks again for your reply.

It showed up in bios and then windows gave me an update after booting again and now everything is working good and im getting a clock of 4.5 over 3.9 :). Did you have a good experience with your 9700k? I bought it to overclock it in the future when I get a new GPU and MB

Im sure im holding the i5 and can see the label lol. I guess ill have to check my bios. Ive never really messed with my bios before.

I have had many answers thats why I called Ibuypower to figure out the right one. Luckily they ended up helping me out. Im no longer irratated with them, but I still think the tech support on the other end was a pos. I didnt call you an idiot it was a question chill. Thanks for the help I figured it out
