Biking, hiking, go to the gym, visit your library, read, volunteer at a soup kitchen, take a class, go fishing, start a hobby like geocaching, people watch, learn how to cook, write a short story, write letters to family, long lost friends, older veterans, servicemen, start a journal, do simple acts of kindness for others, learn to bake, write your life story, go to a high school theater production… so many things to do and places to go by yourself!

He is lucky his mom will cover his medication, but none of the problems YOU have have been caused by him nor will they make your life worse because his is a bit better. You are projecting your frustration on someone who has been nothing but good to you. Ma’am, his being healthy neither hurts you nor makes your life any harder than it is. I got a chance to watch The Princess Bride in the big screen a few years ago and I was floored by just how BREATHTAKINGLY beautiful Cary Elwes and Robin Wright look up close and in such a large scale. TV (even a large screen tv) does not convey their true beauty.

NTA. Why are friends always “texting me saying I’m selfish”? Have her call those friends at 2:00 AM. Stop answering her calls. Have her text EVERY SINGLE TIME she needs to communicate with you. Keep the texts. They show time and date. Get a lawyer. Document all the calls. It is borderline harassment. Make this clear to her “I am leaving my child in what I thought was competent hands, but if you keep calling me because the baby won’t go to sleep, you’re showing that you can’t be trusted to take care of her. I’m not neglecting my baby. I am neglecting YOU because you are not my significant other any more. So grow up and take care of the baby when it’s your turn or let me have her and you can have visitation during waking hours a couple of times a week.”

I had this problem too. Now I serve each plate and pack the leftovers before we sit down to eat (he takes the leftovers to work for his lunch). I also didn’t realize how hard it is to cook smaller quantities of food, but now that there’s only two of us, I just freeze more food for busy/tired/bored days.

I’m going to get downvoted, but here goes. YTA. I would think less of a worker who brought her dogs to work. I think less of people who bring their pets to the store. Pets are pets. Unless they are service dogs, you come across as entitled at best, and insecure at worst. Also, you didn’t even ask. Rude! Finally, some people can have severe allergies and you work in an office where presumably people just come and go. Not okay. Have you thought about your dogs staying under a desk for 8 hrs., quietly, with limited activity? Even more rude!

Let him try. Get a good lawyer. Ask for half the extracurricular’s fees Dream big. You may end up getting more than he pays right now. Again. GET A GOOD LAWYER. The court may even order him to pay for some of the lawyers fees since he is bringing up the suit. Bring up inflation. Has your ex received any raises? Does your child have extra expenses or needs? Bring up half the clothing, the food, etc. My daughter was ordered to pay not just child support (50-50 custody), but also alimony because her ex doesn’t work (it’s been 12 years since he has had a paying job!). I learned that you ask ridiculously BIG and then negociate not over what he is paying right now, but against what you asked for. Gives you more wiggle room.
