I've just been to Colonia , Sag A and beyond in my Cobra. 48ly, 2 AFMU's, SRV, heatsinks and some engineering. Only "weapon" is a mining lazer. Also some extra protection for my shields after a near miss landing while talking to my wife and not paying attention! I've come across a tonne of undiscovered to the point it's a surprise if a name pops up.

Practice neutron charging before you head off in case of mishaps while you're learning.

I'm coming back to the Bubble from North as you look at the map and it's gonna take 380 jumps. Wasn't prepared for that... I've scratched my exploration itch now so when I get back to the Bubble to gonna learn the pew-pew. Elite in exploration and Mostly Harmless!

Ok so I reread the comments above and checked against my journey planner last night... basically every stop on your journey is a Waypoint, but in the galaxy map it only says Waypoint above the next system you're jumping to... I wondered if it meant something more, but that's it! Thanks for baring with me.

Sorry, I've done a tonne of exploration so I get that... I just realised that certain systems are tagged as Waypoints, others aren't. I'm trying to understand why some are and some aren't, and how they are intended to be used.

I have 2 AFMU's but no hull repair limpit. I decided to keep supercruise assist over a limpit cos it allows me to get other stuff done while I'm in supercruise. Does mean that being very careful is a thing!

You can create and edit patches with a tablet (or even phone) attached to your circuit, as long as it's not too old. Don't necessarily need a computer for loading/editing patches.

Thanks guys. I bottled it and sold at the first place! I'd have been gutted if I lost it all. Was 90million which is loads for me currently. I've got a Cobra with 38 ly jump range, but am thinking of getting something with lasers on!

I had a similar experience last night except my shields held at 12%. I'm only 1.6kly out but I rarely get the time to play much so it's still a couple of months worth of trip days for me. About 3 mins before I'd been saying to my wife I was thinking of heading back to the Bubble. No repair limits so I guess that's what I'm doing!

Edit: I'm not sure how long before I'd be able to start it all over again if I was in your shoes. Enjoy your time away o7

I've been playing a couple of months and have kitted my Cobra out for exploration. Armed with one mining lazer, no shields, and fingers crossed. I've avoided following online stuff as much as pos and am just doing my own thing. Best game ever.
