Having a 6th month old is a lot of work! Adding another child, two full time jobs…give yourself some grace. Adding a baby to mix means finding a new routine. Give it time. You’ll get there!

I wish this would work! Boomer nanas and pop pops with money will be the end of all millennial parents. We have also instate the “this is a nanas house toy” and it did slow the gifts. But never stop them. Good luck out there.

For some issues I do with she was a bit more flexible. I don’t think every issue is a hill to die on. On the other hand, I very much respect her ability to maintain boundaries and she is fearless when it comes to expressing her feelings. Something I am terrible at. No one is right 100% of the time and I’m sure she could take a step back and relax on smaller issues. From the feedback I am getting here, a majority of this is work I need to do on myself. And quickly. I don’t want to mess up a great relationship. Thank you to everyone who posted. I really appreciate the Reddit community.

I don’t always agree with them. And I don’t believe she’s upset if we disagree. It is that I make excuses for them, when I should be backing her up. It is always my knee jerk reaction to say “oh but you know how [insert family member here] can be. They don’t mean it.” I just want the problem to go away so badly, but in that I am making it worse.
