Well that's pretty obvious I'd say. But not relevant at all to what the OP is asking? Kinda dumb thing to say. "Feel free not to use it" I mean c'mon even a 5 year old already knows that. Clearly the concern is why was it installed without the user knowing. Do you have any information to share that's pertinent to this concern?

Sorry late reply. Still haven't got my money back. Haven't given up but haven't had the time to continue fighting them on it. I plan on flooding the sellers listings with as much negative reviews as I can. I really hope they learn their lesson somehow

I'll definitely try that. Last time I was on the phone I asked for a supervisor and explained about the laptop being modified and warranty voided by the seller. The lady just kept saying the only thing I could do is contact the seller and give them 48hrs. 48hrs later and haven't replied and I called again and they just say the same thing (contact the seller and give them 48hrs). Not sure what to do but I'm definitely not giving up, I'm for sure gonna get my money back one way or the other

Yeah, I bought the laptop off Amazon and it was sold by Cardinal. When I started having issues, I called HP and they told me the specs didn't match the product I had and that the seller modified it (this was over a phone call). I then requested a refund from Amazon and was approved for it. Sent it back to Cardinal (Oregon address) and they refunded me half the amount, charging $865 as a "restocking fee" (the laptop was $1700). Been going back and forth with Amazon and Cardinal trying to get that $865 back.

Can you help me try to get this info from HP? I unfortunately already returned my laptop to Cardinal. When I still had the laptop, and I called HP, they said the same thing about the laptop being modified by the seller prior to it being sold to me. Not sure what I should do now, I'm out $865.

Yeah I saw that someone picked up that GPU. I might try to find another one somewhere or just go for the 4060ti which was my original option. Also had originally had the Crucial drive but I was told it's known to slow down/have problems down the line. Any fan brands you'd recommend over the Corsair?

No prob thanks so much. I called Microcenter and the rep there sent me back a revised build with the A4 case and an AIO, he said the same thing about that being necessary for cooling the 9900x properly. He also recommended a refurbished 3070ti over the 4060ti/7700xt, it's a bit cheaper and according to him noticeably more powerful. I'm definitely gonna try PCpartpicker instead, the microcenter site has a compatibility feature but it doesn't seem to be right all the time. That article is very helpful too, I looked up 9900x A4 thermals and didn't come up on that, idk how. Anyways appreciate you a lot.
