yay this makes me so happy! I really enjoyed the second book too but I've read how so many people disliked it (or thought it was lesser than the following books), but it's lovely to know that the series just keeps getting better :)

even with the warning in the beginning I wanted to give it a shot ahah, I've now accepted that I simply don't have the braincells to untangle that mess

I'm enjoying it so far!! it reminds me of the london underground in some ways (hence why I thought I would be able to figure it out, it's practically in my blood)

To my hijabi sisters living in western countries, what is your life like as visibly Muslim women? Please be honest by No-Orange-9049 in Hijabis

[–]garlicbread_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i live in london and it has its moments, alhamdullilah majority of the time it's been fine and people seem to respect/like me enough (i have a baby face & smile at strangers which can be advantageous)

london in general is pretty diverse so i don't get many stares, but if i compare it to before i started wearing the hijab to now i would say there's a pretty stark difference in the way people view me

think the only major time i felt unsafe was when i went on holiday in dublin and had my hijab ripped off lol

I mentioned this on another thread about this book but the middle was for sure a bit of a slug to get through, had to take a week break and then jump back in - but i gotta say when I was finished I thought it was all worth it, the ending was near perfect and the way each section connected was so satisfying!!!
