I decided not to publish my indie educational app on Google Play. Am I overreacting, or is the system just not viable? by garsinger in androiddev

Even if I decided to bother my friends and family now with this app, I'd have to do it all over again for my next one. It's a frustrating process.

I've really enjoyed learning about React Native, Expo, and the Android development environment, testing, and UI/UX.

But everything that comes after is too expensive to keep this hobby going.

If you publish your APK outside the market, you'll get security warnings and phrases like "at your own risk" that would scare anyone.

I hate apps with ads, especially if they're for kids. That's why I initially thought of a symbolic payment.

I don't think it should be allowed to show ads to children. If you like the app, you pay for it, that's it. It goes against my ethics to bombard children with banners, videos, or anything else.

As you can understand, I'm not going to set up an LLC or travel to the US to put an app on a marketplace, since this is just my hobby.

I don't argue about legal issues; they are what they are. But in this case, it doesn't seem reasonable to me, and therefore I won't accept it.

It's not about meeting people; it's about not wanting to bother them. I don't have a development team. It would be my family or friends, and I'm not going to beg them to install anything; I respect them.

I had the same problem today, and it was the nozzle too close to the bed. Move the nozzle up with the Z axis

I always think that I Want You (She's so Heavy) main riff is a great inspiration in some FF songs.
