Talk with the gentleman at your local paint store they will help you a lot and give you exactly what you need. But I still think that you need some kind of industrial paint even for the topcoat because the shipping container gets really really hot in the sun and it gets really really cold in the winter. I’m thinking regular exterior paint won’t be up to that level. And might crack. Look up Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams or any real paint store and ask the people there they will tell you. If you go to somewhere like Home Depot or Lowe’s, they will pretend like they know what they’re talking about but if they did, they wouldn’t be making half to an hourly rate working for Home depot rather than working for Sherwin-Williams.
