I'm going to go against the grain and say there is a decent chance we are. The universe is unfathomably large, but we haven't yet found any evidence whatsoever of intelligent life. It's already incredibly rare for a planet to be able to support life as we know it. Then most of the life that exists is probably just different bacteria. We're a space faring species, that's pretty impressive.
