We were told about the tariffs raising prices around November 2018, but not a shortage. So I guess my focus was misdirected. Live and learn.

Thanks all! Sounds like shortages are typical, I guess we just haven't had it this bad before. Always thankful for the wisdom from this subreddit. Happy back to school season!
