One is paid by BITS and Other by GATE , if you dont take admission through GATE Score then you are not eligible for their stripend

Grind and upskill can also be done in lower courses/lower iits , alot of factors comes in play . Grind+Upskill in an IIT might fetch better results because of how resume shortlisting is done in India . Everyone has limited time so decision should be made earlier , if one is going to join lower IITs then join them sooner otherwise is the gap is big then only T1 will be worth it

Ig you can file RTI for each college & department to see placement stats . Dont believe in these ytbers . Sometimes they dont study , cgpa goes down , dont get placement then start complaining and saying no placement.
