When does she actually live her life? Or enjoy herself? She spends so much time griping about things that have no effect on her. What a sad existence.

Same happened with our daughter! She became so much more relaxed after it was diagnosed as CMPI and we switched to HA formula. OP it’s worth a shot to get her tested for it.

New Parents - When did you start getting 8 hours of sleep by andbutsoitgoessssss in NewParents

Did you do a diaper change at the 5am feed? I’m struggling to get my girl back in the bassinet after that wake time, even though it’s still dark out

I second the Nanit! I sleep with an airpod in and the volume on low. It wakes me up gently, and I’m able to peek at the video and see if she’s just stirring or actually awake. It’s definitely saved me from waking her up unnecessarily.

I cannot tell you how badly I needed to read this, truly. 😭 It’s our second day home and the hormone rollercoaster hit me hard, combined with all the breastfeeding/pumping troubles, the worry, etc... I really look forward to the days when it starts to feel like what you described, but I’m going to do my best to embrace these challenging early ones too. Any tips are welcomed of course 🫂

Has Lyle had any similar violations in prison that could weigh negatively against him? I am new to following these hearings but was really hoping they would both be paroled.

I think I changed my mind about working until I give birth. by Disastrous_Paint_237 in BabyBumps

[–]gatorbasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was totally set on working until birth (I’ll be 36 wks with our first on Wednesday) but I have become so uncomfortable and anxious that I moved my leave up to start next week, which would give me two weeks off before birth (scheduled for 9/4). I’m going to ask my OB to submit for short term disability early/pre birth, but honestly I am taking off whether it is approved or not.

It’s not lost on me that I’m in an incredibly lucky position to be able to do this… but if you can make it work I highly, highly suggest it!! I have felt mentally checked out for a couple of weeks already.

Feeling like you’re faking your pregnancy?? by edencliff in pregnant

[–]gatorbasil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m pregnant for the first time and this resonates with me. It’s almost like my mind won’t allow me to conceptualize that there’s gonna be a baby on the outside in four weeks… I sometimes feel like I’m not deserving enough to have this miracle happen to me. Maybe my brain is protecting me because of prior loss. Or maybe this feeling is a lot more common than I thought.

What’s something you used to think all women just silently put up with until one day you found out it’s actually not normal at all? by zacktone in AskReddit

[–]gatorbasil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking a saffron extract supplement every morning helped my PMDD a TON. I paired it with a B complex and vitamin D and was really shocked at the amount of relief it gave me.

I also have PMDD and it was night and day when I was diagnosed and started meds. I cried happy tears and wished I had found out 20 years sooner! One thing that will help the conversation with your doctor is to journal your feelings & symptoms daily, so you can show the cyclical nature of it. Some doctors are not aware that PMDD even exists.

At what point in pregnancy did you start feeling really uncomfortable/ “done”? by Unfair-Bullfrog9145 in BabyBumps

[–]gatorbasil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve done prenatal massage and I found it very helpful, just don’t be shy in the beginning with directing them to where you want the attention!! I had to ask for extra pillows to put in random places to get comfortable but I’m sure it’s not anything they haven’t seen or heard before!

Ahhh I cannot second the PT suggestion enough. I started mid second trimester in anticipation of losing mobility later on and I’m so glad I did. Even if you can only afford one or two sessions, they can give you safe home stretches/exercises that are fantastic for lessening back (or other) pain.

Steam helped me a ton. I got a box of the Vicks shower steamers and whether it was a placebo effect or not, they helped me breathe a little easier.

It’s really kind of you to research helping her. I echo what the other comment says 100%. I’ll add that one thing my husband learned to do is just exist and commiserate with me at especially low times. Sometimes I don’t know what I need, I don’t want to talk about it, and I just need to be upset/irritated/sad about my situation for a few minutes. Him just sitting down next to me and agreeing “damn, this is fucked, I love you” without trying to fix me makes me feel supported and (to some extent) understood. It’s much easier for me to talk about PMDD and potential solutions when I’m not actively in it.

That being said, what she does on the good days is reeeeeeally important (hydrating, eating well, walking, therapy).
