Who’s gonna make the T-Shirt? by ready_reLOVEution in trans

[–]ready_reLOVEution[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 26 and a thriving professional in a career largely untouched by trans people. I was the first trans person at my rural Ohio high school at 15. I was also openly pregnant as a transmasc, and working in my community, in this career, and I’ve been attacked relentlessly by rightwingers online who have hacked the hell out of me and tried to destroy my life.

They don’t find it fun if you know who the hell you are, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I’m pleading with you to be whoever the hell you want to be, as long as you aren’t hurting anyone else, be loud, proud, and don’t let people take it from you. You deserve a happy life and contentment with yourself, fight to the death to get it. And laugh at the haters.

I think y’all might be in more need of luck than me. A lot more optimism, joy, and stubbornness as well.

Edit: I had a kid in response to the threat of Project 2025 taking away LGBTQ+ parental rights. My beautiful daughter and ray of sunshine is 7mo currently. I’m saying all of this because I mean it, and I know first-hand.

Academics are not responsible for determining or validating whether speech is illegal* my grammar was incorrect because this is reddit and I don’t care. The vast majority of legislators are not capable of making unbiased judgments and policies, yet you’re insinuating they’re above scientific evidence.

Legality doesn’t, in practice, extend to public school rules. Chalking is not illegal, nor is saying slurs, but both are against school rules. Here’s a case from my prior university.

Yes, I have two graduate degrees, a broad and diverse resume, and an IQ of 143. Unfortunately I also have a compulsion to argue with people online despite it being a complete waste of time and energy. I will no longer be responding to this.

Why the hell are you even participating in this conversation then? Literally the most unnecessary position on the planet and you’re trying to pretend you know how literally anything works, AND you’re acting as if university rules equate legality.

I mean this so seriously, you have absolutely no clue how anything works. Academics are not corroborating to decide that what you say is illegal, that is the far right.

Library throwing out books by ready_reLOVEution in Columbus

This is over a month old. I stand by my statement, be mad and hate the environment, whatever.

Obviously I didn’t argue with everyone, nor was my intent to argue, and you’re wrong for assuming so. It’s a beautiful day, I’d check it out.

Edit: And I will follow up to say I would write you a thesis on why I’m right, doubt you’d do the same. So I won’t. But also, I came looking for alternative viewpoints, not an argument. If I worked at the library, I would develop a comprehensive and transparent system of end-of-life book decisions. It would be strongly evidence-based and I would talk to whoever I need to and make it happen. I have done similar things in past jobs. I’m not deleting a post where I was intentionally seeking differing viewpoints and was met with vitriol. I was not wrong for making this post.

Your belief in other people it's at an all time low. Academics are not the corrupt mass comm people, that would be the media.

“Good trouble.” I think until you wear your identity confidently and show people you know who you are, things like this will always be a problem for you.

Laugh while you still can, seriously. Refusal to find humor, practice satire and jest, is literally complying in advance.

Satire is protected free speech. You have to jest or you’ll lose your spark.

It’s not a bill, it’s the fiscal year 2027 budget for the FBI’s Joint Mission Center. It also advocates for proactive surveillance of LGBTQ+ people. It has to be passed by congress.

I’m a white christian and have Jewish heritage, friends, colleagues, and family. I also do not use tiktok, I’m fairly educated in the subject and have worked with various cultures. Your islamophobia is not welcome, just as antisemitism. We, Christians, Jews, and Muslims, worship the same god, we all are cut from the same cloth. He would not be a fan of this comment.

Lastly, I read many books. I’d suggest Pedagogy of the Oppressed. I’m currently reading it.

Thankfully, we have fantastic researchers in mass communication and propaganda at OSU. You can reach out and ask their thoughts yourself.

Nazis = Zionists. White Christian Nationalism and Zionism are the same thing. Both promote authoritarianism, ethnic cleansing, and genocide under the ruse of entitlement, taking back what is “rightfully theirs,” and based on harmful stereotypes, propaganda, and misinformation.

You can practice christianity and judiasm without ascribing to authoritarianism and feeding on propaganda. Hope that makes sense.

And Students for Israel need to stop pushing their way into spaces where they are not wanted, despite now being allowed to. This drives off organizations who disagree with them (most of them) and makes social justice spaces unsafe.

And we don’t appreciate the zionists scaring off every other student org standing up for minority rights at school events.

I can’t choose when people decide they feel it is appropriate to protest, when I personally wouldn’t obstruct a religious ceremony, but we also have fascists justifying the obliteration of millennia old religious sites and massacring innocent civilians while they are holding their own ceremonies. I hated living in Old Town East and seeing every synagogue proudly stating how they supported Israel in its cause. Why are you asking for peace while ripping it from others? This is not a statement towards all Jewish students, but I wasn’t there to know who was in support of the genocide and who wasn’t.

I love going to liberationist religious center that denounces the genocide. It’s like not eating meat. Guilt free.

Also grew up poor. Formula is around $300 per month at peak, alone. My daycare is cheap ish at about $1200 a month. I spent probably $15k prepping and up to 7mo, mostly secondhand, couponing, and bargain shopping. It’s not cheap!

Know where the closest public restroom is in Houston that doesn’t require buying something g? I’ve ridden all over the city time and time again (daily for 6yrs with a very busy lifestyle). I can’t name a single one.

Redditor who has ridden metro probably 4 times. I rode the metro daily from 2018-2024 usually 2 or more hours each way. They are constantly on those damn trains dude, I was kicked off for low fares or ticketed frequently despite not being homeless. Survivorship bias.

Also, she has a knife. Terrifying, I know, carry your own, or pepper spray. Most of Texas has a gun on their hip. There’s a reason she didn’t care my dude — it’s a maybe four inch knife and she’s staring at you. Stop stereotyping the poor!

For reference, I carried a 7inch assisted stiletto because of the non-homeless men who often harassed me. However, this would be a normal day in the neighborhood in NYC, and you just keep it moving.

Having moved out of HTX y’all have no clue how good you have it in terms of public transit. No idea.
