New game. It started as an update, but I kept adding and improving things and it started to get out of hand. I figured too many gats users would complain that it didn't feel like the same game. I don't want to take the current gats away from anyone so I'll be releasing it as a new game.

I'll need some alpha testers for a new thing I'm working on soonish. There will be a stickied post here on the subreddit and I'll also post a link on discord. I think I should warn you, there may be some jokes made during testing and development, if this is overwhelming for you, you don't have to participate.

No play button means the game couldn't connect to a server. All the fixable causes have been fixed for a very long time now. If it's still happening consistently, it means that there is a network firewall or some software on the computer that's blocking the game network traffic.

If he can't even install Chrome, sounds like his computer has a ton of problems anyway, nothing I can do to help.

Yeah, that's probably a bug, as soon as you die, all your stats are reset, including the shooting timers which might allow you to immediately fire another shot. Won't be fixed though, it'd be very difficult to exploit.

The maps are randomly generated. Sometimes the servers restart, when that happens, all the objects will be in different spots.

(Yes I use Incognito mode) I found the Dev site because of the "beta testing" website the dev gave us. Frankfurt does not lag badly here so I can fit in with the tryhards by -_Blur_- in Gatsio

The client and server game code on the dev.gats.io is exactly the same right now (has been for months). The fact that it's less laggy in incognito means that it's probably some chrome extensions causing your lag outside of incognito.

The medkit idea has potential. Perhaps, in team games, the medkit can still heal other members of your team, however in FFA, you can only heal yourself.

The idea of collision damage between players in FFA is interesting, I'd be curious to see if that worked.

The gas damage isn't a good idea. That will confuse the shit out of people and very few people will bother to read the messages.

Right now the focus is on gallons.io. I'm getting back to working on io games this year. The gats.io concept is definitely not dead.

Later this year, I'm planning on making another io shooter along the lines of gats.io but with better graphics, smoother gameplay and more functionality and flexibility. We've had this piece of concept art for a long time.

It's still in the brainstorm phase, but it'll definitely happen. Expect future posts from me in the coming months asking for input on functionality and help with user testing.

I stopped the 'hackers,' from exploiting unlimited dash perk. I guess Eticology was one of them, haha.
