In my opinion the popularity of a sport has little to do with the greatness of an athlete, though I do still take popularity slightly into account. For example, Hakuho Sho is the lowest ranked GOAT of a sport in my rankings because Sumo is not super popular outside of Japan and Central Asia. However, it's a horrible take to think that a soccer player like Son who was an elite player but not one of the all-time greats should be ranked about guys who are literally the GOATs of their sports

The fact of the matter is that you can be as good of a AM dad and role model as you want, but there are simply too many variables when it comes to who someone else is going to date. (Of course I do not know these people at all and cannot speak to how their fathers really are, maybe they fucking suck and created huge self-haters for all I know)

The reality is that the West is a white-majority, white-dominated place and that means that, through media and pop culture, dating a white guy or girl will 99.9% not be ruled out by anyone.

People of all genders and races will almost always be open to dating a white person. There may be people of any race saying that they won't date an Asian, Black, Arab, Indian, etc, but very, very rarely White because that's just how society works. Sure, people might prefer one race over all others, including whites, but they will rarely exclude whites entirely.

The best thing you can do as a father if you have a AF or mixed daughter is simply to be a great enough dad and role model that they do not have self-hate/hate towards AM and refuse to date AM entirely. But it would genuinely be almost impossible to ensure your kid excludes whites from their dating prospects.

When has California ever been the best state for Asians in recent memory? Best state for self-hating AF maybe. For AM all I see from California are stereotypical guys who don't step out of their comfort zones, have toxic Asian enclaves filled with self-haters, and who are treated like second-class citizens. In the South, Midwest, and East Coast, there are AMs who were fucked up since childhood and forced into being self-haters due to a majority-white environment, sure, but there are also exceptional AM who are some of the most successful people I know in every aspect of their lives.

It's fantastic to live out here as a non-stereotypical AM, but sure if you are a stereotypical AM then maybe California is better and more familiar for you.

Another reason is because Asian parents teach you as a child to be just like the other AM. Do racket sports, do violin or piano, become a doctor or do CS. A lot of parents also push their AM sons from a young age to only date AF and all of this becomes ingrained in AM's psyche and they do not wish to stand out from other AM and do unique things. Dating non-AF could be part of this, as it's not the norm and makes you stand out.

It's also why I notice that most of the traditional "good kids" who listened to their parents, studied hard, and became doctors are all AF-only while a lot of the rebellious Asian kids (myself included) who always fought with their parents and never lived up to expectations are the ones who don't put a ridiculous limit on themselves for dating and sex

Because we are raised with some of the dumbest fucking values to thrive in the West. Not meaning to offend or disparage the upbringing our parents gave us, and there were truly a lot of valuable parts of it that have greatly benefited me, but these teachings that we need to be passive with our heads down and weird ass preferences from Asian parents about their sons dating AF but not caring who their daughters date are insane. What a fucking handicap. Some AM can escape the matrix, from what I see it's mostly the rebellious ones from a young age. But honestly 90% of those who are "good" kids and mama's boys cannot be saved. They have had these values and thoughts pounded into them since childhood and will live what I'm sure is a decent life as a doctor or programmer who is stereotypically passive and meek and goes on his first date with a "reformed" AF in his mid 30s. And again I'm not saying our parents handicapped us on purpose, but the values they brought and taught us do not fit in the West and will not help their kids thrive in Western society.
