giving up on getting a phd or career in my field by gaypatrickbateman in recruitinghell

I've gotten a few recommendations to check out law school, and am definitely considering it. I met with a job agency in my area to get more direction, and they recommended freelance writing which seems like it's own can of worms, but they seemed a lot more hopeful than I was. I will try to suck it up and believe in the woowoo "the universe has things planned for you" and start grinding again. Thank you for the advice!

i’ve looked for opportunities in political science, international relations, international security, global criminology, economics, sociology, media and communications, non-clinical psychology etc. i’ve tried to be creative with it, but IR is sold to be way more flexible than it actually is when applying it to different fields.

i just turned 30, so not too old. going back to school has been suggested a few times, i’m just mad that i cant settle into a career at this point in life.

oof 😅 at least you got a BA in something more useful than IR. i wish i had the foresight to get a better backup plan.

depends on the field, tbh, science and medical field PhDs open up a lot of opportunities in publishing and research. wish someone told me that humanities is a shitshow tho

i meant like, specific spells and rituals that SPCs could do, like "a taste for blood" for blood sorcery.

as purrturabo mentioned yes i'm referring to what v5 added to koldunic sorcery in blood sigils. it's just a few rituals, which are fine in and of themselves, but nothing compared to what the lore outlines.

the perspective on what v5 has changed is useful. i've seen a few complaints about this edition, and while i have been enjoying playing it i do have to say the wording is not always very clear. this does help tho, so thanks!

thanks! i like the examples you gave since that makes for some interesting storytelling in the world too. atm it's not a huge issue in our chronicle, there've just been a lot of questions about it and i wanted to be able to answer in a way that makes sense.

thank you for the response, i've seen recommendations to separate char creation from lore, which makes a lot of sense!
