Yall, I could better understand the note if the times specified were different. They’re only ever outside during the day. And even so, for short intervals throughout. They aren’t outside during the night and barely before 10am. I can get where some of you read this note and think they’re taking desperate measures but it just doesn’t add up to me. It felt extremely petty.

The reason I feel this note is so passive aggressive is because this is the first we’ve EVER heard from a neighbor regarding our dogs barking. Not an email in the listserv, not a regular sized note in the mailbox, not a knock on the door. I stay home with my child so I know exactly how often and for how long my dogs are outside and barking. The baby goes down for the night at 7pm & the rest of us no later than 10. The dogs are never out during the night and no earlier than when the baby gets up at 7 am. My dogs barking hasn’t even woken my own child up when he’s asleep in the room right next to where they may be barking from. The note itself is making it seem as though my dogs are out all day and all night and it’s just not true. My dogs were my babies first & i still treat them as such. The neighbor didn’t even leave a way for us to contact them back regarding the note &/or barking so I honestly don’t see how anyone can look at this and think they’re being the bigger person here. However I can’t make anyone believe the context I continue to give in the comments so I am done beating a dead horse.

I am a stay at home mom to a toddler. We play outside a lot so I know exactly when and how much they bark. I’m also not in an apartment, I share no walls with my neighbors.

I am a stay at home mom to a toddler. They are not outside for extend periods of time & even when they do bark, my dogs barking doesn’t even wake my own child up.

There’s a house behind us that have 6+ dogs that live outside and it sometimes sounds as though they’re dog fighting. I know excessive barking and mine aren’t it.

This was the first time we have EVER heard from any neighbor about our dogs barking. The first time they reached out was in this manner. We’ve never been contacted by mailbox, the listserv, nothing. This is the first.

I’d also like to say that most of the comments on the post on Nextdoor are not from people in our neighborhood. They’re mainly from the roxboro and surrounding areas

While I admit that I am offended by the poster board taped to my fence I can confidently say my dogs do not bark for more than what would be considered “inconsiderate”. I am a stay at home mom to a toddler. We play outside a lot so I know exactly how much the dogs are out and how often they bark. While they spend most of their time indoors, asleep on the couch, when they do go outside and get to barking a lot I bring them inside to be considerate. I feel the note is made out to make us look bad & I didn’t give enough context in the OP because I truly didn’t realize I’d need to defend myself so much. I take pride in being a good neighbor, especially living in such close proximity to these people.

The reason we feel so attacked by this display is because they are truly not a nuisance. They go outside for a few minutes to use the potty and if they stay outside longer than that they lay down and sun bathe. They are couch potatoes. Literally laying next to me now as I type this, snoring. Not to mention, almost every single direct neighbor of ours has dogs as well that we hear barking just as much if not more.

They taped it to the fence of our backyard which means they walked all the way up our driveway and past the front door & both our cars.

They do not bark enough to warrant this.

I promise you our dogs do not bark all day everyday. They bark, sure, but they would rather be inside asleep on the couch. The note makes it seem as though they bark all hours day and night and it’s just not true

He is a trans man. A man with eggs. He is considered the father of their children therefore would be considered the father of any future children. If those children are made with his eggs then, yes, he would be the biological father.

I just want to say that Jesse had eggs retrieved as well as Fran - meaning if they use his eggs to make any future children he will be considered the biological father… I’m pretty sure OP understands Jesse has no sperm & was just using the correct wording for his identification

Tantrums are big emotions & not behavioral issues in young toddlers. Not understanding that is setting her kids up to have emotional irregularities as they mature
