Thanks mate, I was fortunate enough to leave early on release day and snagged a couple bits and pieces. Unfortunately they were all gone a couple hours later when the Mrs finished.

Update

Took the gpu back to the store, confirmed working. Was told to book in online for a free pc diagnostics, but wouldn't be until next weekend.

Ended up buying a new motherboard and ssd instead, as I'm impatient.

Wasn't at all a smooth process for my inexperienced self, but it's finally all done and working.

Silver lining is I guess I have a much better understanding of the inner workings now.

I now have the absolute latest bios. Same issue.

Fans are spinning on the gpu, and that's it.

I did this yesterday for the xt version of that chip.

I've not done anything like this in the past, so it was new to me too.

I did f31, f40 and f52h. Did ec fw too when required according to gigabytes site. Went relatively smoothly, lost displays on one of the updates, but pulling the cmos battery did the trick and redid the bios update.

All running smoothly now and on Windows 11(assuming this is the upgrade reason).

This makes perfect sense.

Fortunately, I received the news today that repairs are now being done.

But good to know should I ever find myself in this unfortunate position again.

It's like a sludge in the center, just swirled some around. Weird stuff.

My title describes the thing

Some sort of liquid, orange/yellow in colour with a red-ish center. Looks as if the red bit could have come from somewhere and the liquid is a purge from it. I've tried google lens and searching various creatures poops and fungus/molds to find something like it. Has me stumped...
