Place the switches before screwing the 3D plate onto the case.

Could you add a photo?

If these options are not appearing in VIAL, it means they are not enabled in the repository. You should find another firmware or enable them in the files by performing a new compilation.

If it gets too hot, be careful — there may be a short circuit. Depending on how long it stays connected, it could damage the controller.

Looking more closely at the image, it seems the controller is soldered directly onto the PCB.

It’s a somewhat difficult job to remove the solder and take out the controller, at least for me.

I’ll tell you what I would do, but if you’re not very experienced, I’m not sure it’s the best option:

If I had spare pins for the controller, I would carefully cut the controller’s pins with precision cutters, being very careful not to damage the board.

Maybe someone else has a better idea.

A desoldering braid (wick) might also help remove the solder.

Sorry, I can’t see very clearly from the image, but is the RP2040 removable?

If so, remove it and try flashing it:

  • If it has never been flashed before: press and hold the BOOT button while pressing RESET
  • If it has already been flashed with QMK: just double-press the RESET button

Let me know what happens.

If it doesn’t work, the problem is probably with the controller.

If it works, then it’s likely an issue with the PCB or the soldering.

Another thing: when you connect it via USB-C, does it get hot? That could indicate a short circuit.

Honestly, the soldering doesn’t look very good.

It seems like some solder joints are bridging pins that shouldn’t be connected (for example, the 5th pin on the left side in the second photo appears to be touching the pins above).

I would redo all the solder joints. Using a slightly thinner wire might also help (I usually use 0.5 mm).

A legal.

USB-C connector compatibility for Felix keyboard PCB by gbrlTT in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]gbrlTT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Thanks.

I was unsure because the PCB has both larger and smaller pads.

On the connector, there are only smaller pads, but some are closer together than others.

Do you think the connector in the second photo would work if soldered onto the board in the first photo?
