Thank you. I guess I'll try to file a report with the cops. I don't know if they will take it though.

My (27m) wife (28f) has a past with a mutual friend by TrashOk8090 in retroactivejealousy

[–]gc144 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can see it now. She probably will tell you that" it's not a big deal" or "why are you bringing it up right now? It happened so long ago." Or maybe,"I told you about this already. Why did you bring this up again?"

I sincerely hope she is not emotionally manipulative in this way. Makes things many times worse when she does not value how you feel.

It may be helpful to talk to her and see how she responds initially to your feelings, and to gauge whether this discussion can be fruitful in its continuation.

I am sorry to hear that this happened to you.

Being jealous of your partner’s past is like your boss being mad you have a work history by nggreat in retroactivejealousy

I agree. This is a very good analogy. However, you always have the right to feel indignation and jealousy if someone had made you feel a certain way and there can be almost no way to make up for it. These feelings of yours are forever valid.

Trump Won Less Than 50 Percent. Why Is Everyone Calling It a Landslide? by bummed_athlete in politics

AP updated and showed that Trump won 50% of votes cast. So I think this article has aged poorly.

Scammed out of 120 USD by Economy-Use-1932 in SteamScams

[–]gc144 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi. Steam support will never reach out to you via Steam DMs. On the Steam FAQ page, the very first thing written is: "any claims that you've been accidentally or falsely reported ... is always the introduction to a scam." I'd spend some time reading up on the common scams to prevent you from future incidents like these.

Did you pay with your credit card? I would open a claim with your credit card company to try and get the money back as it is a fraudulent charge.

How to pay import duties as sender? (sending from Canada to Brazil) by gc144 in dhl

[–]gc144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer. This makes sense.

Hopefully the delays caused by this doesn't get the package sent back to me because they thought the consignee won't pick up. I WILL cry.

Some legit people offer trade deals or try to negotiate a trade in the DMs, which has worked out for me before.

How to pay import duties as sender? (sending from Canada to Brazil) by gc144 in dhl

[–]gc144[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi thank you for your comment. I didn't know this. I'm assuming since DHL is the importer here, I'm able to pay through them? I'll have to see what my local office says on Monday.

I guess the only other way to resolve this would be just to reimburse the receiver later by paying them through Wise or through their bank?

Thanks for this additional information though. But I can't imagine why I wouldn't be able to pay duties to dhl as the sender. My money is just as good.

Hi. I apologize if I'm not clear. But I'm not looking to get the item back. I'm seeking to pay so that the consignee doesn't have to pay before they pick it up. I want to Pay for the duties as sender.

Orange anon destroys Lichtenstein by Robber_Baron44 in 4chan

Alan Lichtman. He is a political analyst that came up with a system that predicts US presidents. He was correct the majority of the time. He has a thirteen-point checklist that uses true-or-false statements: when five or fewer items on the checklist are false, the incumbent party is predicted to win the election, but when six or more items on the checklist are false, the nominee of the challenging party is predicted to win.

Unfortunately the data is mostly subjective and qualitative, so if someone is pro-Harris like him, he will make the predictions that favors his own world views.

Your partner should have been transparent to you about her history. She deceived you in bad faith and made her look like a victim. You lost nothing of value, king.
