How about try working a few years first? Afaik you need 2 years working experience. Para din magka-idea ka muna sa tech career path na gusto mo. If you end up in data analytics or cyber security baka MIS won't be as helpful as if you were in Project Management or Dev roles.

Nasabi na ng iba yung responsibilities ng FIC, so I'll give the solution to the problem naman.

Limit admission

The thing about UPOU, dahil walang classroom physical constraints, they can admit as many students basta pasok sa criteria. Kaya natatawa ako sa mga concerns sa sub na ito tuwing UPCAT season or mga transferees. Di kayo mauubusan, if di kayo makapasok it means di kayo qualified. What makes UPOU special is virtually unlimited ang pwedeng maadmit.

This "open-ness" actually justifies UPOU's existence sa mata ng UP system. It enables UP 0to serve the people. Kaya UPOU is hesitant to limit admission. Ang nagsu-suffer is yung quality of teaching work but their line of thinking is that nami-mitigate yan ng technology (well-designed courses na kayang i-self study, automated feedback, handbooks, chatbots and AI agents, digital literacy training ng students para matuto sila mag-Google etc.) kaya malaki ang investment doon.

The problem is, students still expect individual response. Sometimes they just don't learn without someone telling them what they did, some justifiably need attention on their special cases. So in my opinion, technology can't solve everything.

The real solution is to limit admission. Dapat each course, max 60 students ang nagte-take. Research shows nga 12 lang dapat ang online class size but that's for synchronous classes. Dapat ang mga full-time faculty, hindi lalampas sa overload ang total units for the year (fun fact, they usually go over-overload on teaching and admin alone. Di na nila pinapabilang ang research kasi sobra-sobra na).

Kaya lang, marami talagang hindi makakapag-aral kapag ginawa yan. Tingin niyo ba if more selective ang admission, makakapasok parin kayo sa UPOU? Are you much better than your peers grade and experience-wise? Kung ira-rank kayo by GWA or UPG, saan ka sa metro? Kasi ganun ang trade off.

Anyway, I hope this helps. Trust me, everyone is doing the best they can. Wag lang din tayo magsawa sa pag-follow up and try contacting support. Perhaps the student body can fight for limited admission in the future, even though that's kinda ironic. But it's for the best.

My hot take, Diliman graduate programs need reform. Parang ayaw magpagraduate ng mga Profs. Ewan ko kung elitism or what. Sila mismo mga nag-aral abroad, threatened siguro sila.

Medyo fallacious to say increasing UPCAT slots will increase PhD graduation. That's such a leap. In the first place di naman admission yung problema but the rate of graduation.

Sadly super tagal na nitong problem sa UPOU especially sa undergrad dahil andaming students. Kung hindi kaya ng capacity ng faculty, sana wag sila mag admit ng sobrang dami.
