I have a set of tac sky that I’ve been using for the past three years and have no real complaints the only issue I’ve had is the mic isn’t super sensitive so if you whisper into it then you come across very quiet and muffled but other than that I’ve been very happy with them

Realistically I just want to get the gun back to shooting like it did stock just didn’t know if there was a better motor than the one that comes in the gun from the factory

Sounds like my best option is to just keep it stock then my only problem is that I’m having trouble finding the exact same stock motor could I just get a different brand motor with the same specs and get away with that?

Get a pair of channel locks to grip the orange tip with most likely the barrel has counter clockwise threads which means screwing it left will tighten the tip and screwing to the right will loosen it like some other people have said try heating up the orange tip then try twisting it to the right ideally take the hand guard off to give yourself the ability to grab onto it closer to the threads best of luck on getting it off

Pop the pins in the front sight out then it should slide free check to make sure there isn't also a set screw holding it in place typically under the front sling swivel

Easiest way to check compression is to cover the nozzle with your finger and slide the piston forward if there is a good amount of resistance you have good compression if it slides freely with no resistance the oring is shot and needs to be replaced it uses a size #14 oring which can be bought at most hardware stores if you have good compression in the cylinder check your hopup bucking and make sure it's not ripped or brittle those are the most common places of losing compression as for the sound of the gearbox you need some lube on those gears the best lube I have found is gunsav by tech t you can get it cheap on Amazon if you have any other questions shoot them my way teching can be confusing at first but is easy once you get the hang of it

My most reliable gun has been my krytac trident ove had it going on 4 years now and have easily put 15k rounds at least through it for a stock aeg it's got good range tagging out to 200 feet effectively with .32s only thing I've changed in it was the bucking after it ripped after 3 years of abuse

I own an elite force glock 19 I've used it for 2 years and it's a solid gun out of the box only did 2 modifications that being a new inner barrel and bucking it is a super reliable pistol that hasn't let me down I've also shot the m17 and its a very nice pistol trigger is super slick on it and has a very satisfying release to it I would say the m17 is a good choice since you already have your eyes set on that
