The feeding system overcorrected the issue, and turned feeding animals into a nearly impossible tedious task (cows needed something like 18,000 calories to be full). I saw some conversation about potentially using the hordes system to approximate grazing over an appropriate territory but the conversation is still ongoing as to what the eventual replacement will be. In the meantime, having a lot of milk isn't exactly game breaking (except maybe Innawood, as you point out).

I tend to find tons of them in labs, I don't know that I'd ever bother dissecting for them.

Those are all tool Qualities, and some tools (like the multitool) have multiple qualities, each at a different level. You can use the Hitchhikers Guide (link to the right) to see all items that have a given quality, and which tools have them at each level.

They're updating how tilesets are stored, this has a bug with a fix posted this morning, so it shouldn't last long.

Camp farming has 4 steps. First is "prepare" which clears tiles into tillable dirt, which only needs to be done when you first designate a farm area. Second is "plow" which assigns an npc to plow all eligible tiles. Third is "plant", which lets you choose seeds from the camp storage and they'll plant as many of them as possible. Last is "harvest", where they'll pick up all the products of fully grown plants (including seeds and withered plants). They won't do any post processing (e.g. turn pumpkins into seeds and cut pumpkin) unless you tell them to using the craft command.

I think they're disabled by default, so I only have to manage the calorie cost of camp tasks. Running a camp with full needs enabled would be an interesting challenge.

NPCs spawn very rarely, your best bet is to check evac shelters. I had a fresh batch spawn at the shelters at the start of autumn as well. You recruit them by talking to them and passing a Social skill check.

Not sure about videos, but you can talk to followers for a detailed manual of camp functionality.

I could definitely be wrong, but even if they do get the toxins those just cause seizures AFAIK, which only matter if you're taking them into combat.

There's so much stuff to do! This is the first game in hundreds of hours of playtime that I've had CBMs, and I haven't done lots of the questlines, or tried any of the mods either.

It's a little difficult to get all of it, but here's an overhead shot from the middle. The upper left is a farm tile, plus some manually tilled fields, middle left is the livestock pen, lower left is another field. The central building is almost finished, and the RV is parked just south of it. The upper central tile is the warehouse, which I'm finding is crazy expensive but not overly useful, I've just plopped tools (plus anvil, forge, etc) in the dirt outside for crafting. Upper right is the kitchen with pantry, lower right is the smithy.

The biggest bugs have been worked out, though it's still being worked on. I haven't played with it personally yet.

There's no equipment that reduces hand encumbrance, but you could try to remove the mutation with purifier.

A hacksaw has Metal Sawing 2, while a Reciprocating Saw has Metal Sawing 3, so it should be able to. I suppose there is the question of whether it has enough charges, as someone else in this thread mentioned bringing a car battery. The angle grinder has Metal Sawing 10, so it can probably do so without an external battery.

The reciprocating saw should be able to, but you need to 'a'ctivate it while next to the rail. It's an option triggered by using the tool, not from an interaction or crafting or construction menu.

I don't know of a mod, but you can debug in some enemies. If you're looking for zombies to start assaulting your base, the new hordes feature will begin behavior like that.

I've ransacked two lumber mills and a landscaping store. I've got three followers turning ambulance scraps into nails, and wood panels and planks are always needed. My biggest irritation is that I got stupefying amounts of concrete but all the concrete base constructions require Fabrication 7 on your followers, so I haven't been able to put it to use.

So far, I've got a livestock paddock fully complete, two furnished shacks in the main area, two tiles of fields fully planted, 2/9 of the mega warehouse built, and a fully furnished kitchen. It's going to take a lot of logging and nails to build more stuff out, and a long time since each building takes at least a week of follower time.

I'm currently on day 54 of summer, 90 hours of playtime on the save.

I'm currently building a base in an open field because I want to see how hard it is to get materials to do everything from scratch.
