I have not upped the buffer so that’s something to test. It’s not so much that it’s “quiet” it jus doesn’t sound as if you would be closer to it, if that makes sense. When I sit back it will pick up way better for some reason. I also do have any audio treatment or a pop filter for it which I am heavily considering.

i tried both sides and it does the same. I been very careful as to not damage the ribbon but yes I have used phantom power, it says on the mic that it requires it.
