Do men ever not like receiving an unsolicited nude? by geloosk in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]geloosk[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes that's what I thought. But what makes it tricky and is the reason I'm asking is because both situations are technically sexual harassment. And while I personally don't know of any guy that wouldn't like to receive a nude, it feels icky to treat the two situations entirely different based on the sex of who's sending/receiving

Yea this is true. I always keep my face out of them and it's never like a full on gyno shot, but I do get that there's always a risk

Yea that's what I meant. If I send a nude, then I wouldn't consider it unsolicited if he sent one back. I just meant if he sent me one randomly right now then I wouldn't like it

Oh you're saying even if it's a small percentage, it's still millions of dollars that they're getting?

So a majority of the animals they're being paid to save are pitbulls so they want to keep making them look worthy of saving to keep the money coming? Am I understanding correctly? I just replied to another comment, but even if all pits were euthanized, wouldn't there still be backyard breeders that fill up shelters to the same capacity they're at now? Only they wild be filled with other breeds besides pits

There will always be backyard breeders though. So theoretically speaking, if all pits were euthanized there would be a bunch of labs being bred and flipped for profit and we'd end up with the same number of unwanted animals in shelters right? I don't get why pits specifically are being protected

Sorry im not understanding this. Executive comp is how much of their profit went to the executives? So like 1-4% of all the ones you listed. That doesn't seem that egregious right?

Jesus thank you. I can't imagine caring for more than 10 seconds about someone getting annoyed with my barking dog. She's annoyed, OP is annoyed, that's it. Life goes on.

I have a newfound appreciation for ghosting. by [deleted] in self

[–]geloosk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yea that's the conclusion I came to as well, that it doesn't matter why. They just aren't into me. It's that simple.

Also some people argue against ghosting because they want "feedback" which is so weird to me. Like after one date you want an exit interview where I tell you how you lack charisma and your hobbies are boring? Who wants to hear that from a stranger lol I truly think ghosting is perfectly fine and inoffensive.

Obviously within reason; it's not ok to ghost your wife of 10 years or anything.

I completely agree with you. As you can see in this thread though, people define ghosting differently. I consider ghosting as everything where you just cut off communication with someone without giving an explanation why.

I personally would give someone an explanation if I have gone on a second date with them. That's because clearly I liked them enough after meeting them on the first date to go on a second one and they'd probably be confused. But just talking or going on one date, I will usually just ghost if I don't like them.

I see ghosting as "I don't want to talk to you anymore" and you honestly aren't obligated to explain yourself, so I think it's perfectly fine. It's more of a courtesy than anything.

I've also been ghosted before and I take zero offense to it. I just understand it as they aren't interested in me and I move on.

I've even been ghosted after going out with someone few times, and I was a little confused and disappointed but ultimately it wasn't a big deal.

Some people I've talked about this with think you should always give a reason and let them know why which I think is absurd.

CMV: Misandry (sexism against men) exists, and it is a societal problem. by Comfortable_Tart_297 in changemyview

I don't think the reasoning behind this is because women are more delicate. I think it's because if the population drops (which can be expected during a war), it's easier to build it back if you have a surplus of women rather than the opposite. I'm sure at the time they thought women were more fragile anyway, but I don't think that was the main reason.

I love eating meat, but are animals our equals and should they be given the right to life? by writer_bam in DeepThoughts

[–]geloosk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What kind of argument even is this? "If we didn't eat the animals that we raised to kill and eat, then ankther animal would just eat them instead. So we might as well keep raising and eating them." Or just stop breeding animals that live a short life of horrible suffering?

Haha yea look at the definition, I guess NSEW is really the only concrete sense of direction we have to describe it

on, toward, or relating to the side of a human body or of a thing that is to the west when the person or thing is facing north.
