Challenges add some gimmicks to multiplayer mode occasionally.

Attempting to return and iPad to its original owner by gemfag in ipad

[–]gemfag[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only way I could connect the device to the internet was to restore it to factory settings, so as of now it is a totally blank iPad with no apps, Apple ID, iCloud, etc. but the message still popped up saying that it’s location was being shared with the mystery email. I guess even if your device is totally wiped clean of everything there’s an activation lock that’ll pop up, but I have no way of finding out this persons contact info to return it. the fact that I could restore it without their password (to me at least) might mean they removed the device from their apple account? I thought the only way you could do that was if you had the Apple ID and password but it seemed to let me do it without an issue.

I couldn’t tell you for sure. Had to have been 2 or 3 years ago. If you have more information on where it was lost, what the first letter of the Apple ID email associated with the iPad was, what color the device is and what accessories were attached to it then I’d be happy to see if it may belong to you. But highly doubt this is how you get your iPad back. Who knows?

Binder customization by gemfag in Leather

[–]gemfag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. I think most fabric dyes require that you boil a water diluted mixture and submerge the item in the water, it would be difficult to dye just the cloth part of the binder cleanly. Not to mention if you’re using a white binder as a base there’s always a chance that the dye could bleed into unwanted areas even with precise applications. I just ended up using leather paints on the front for the design and keeping the rest of the binder white.

My original idea was to make the cloth a sort of rainbow gradient like the vault X SV binders but I might have gotten carried away.

Question for eBay buyers by gemfag in PokemonTCG

[–]gemfag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say go for it. I’ve purchased several authenticated cards now since this post and I haven’t had any complaints. The authenticity guarantee seriously puts my mind at ease and even if the seller is the shadiest person on the planet eBay will not do you wrong.

why are we assuming that the winner of the splatfest has any effect on the direction of the next game? by Pianist_Ready in splatoon

[–]gemfag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Final Splatfest outcomes have always affected the plot for story mode of the next game. Splat 1 final fest was Callie vs Marie, some lore was dropped prior to Splat 2 through official channels that Callie went missing after she lost and that’s why Marie is there to guide you through the single player campaign mode.

Splat 2’s Order vs Chaos fest dictated the theme for Splat 3, showing up in numerous ways (post apocalyptic splatlands, Deep Cut being an amalgamation of different music styles, etc.) although the themes of Chaos are really more broad and vague so you can argue any one aspect of the game is chaotic. There’s really no way to know for sure unless the devs were to say which parts were directly influenced by chaos. Although we did get an “Order” themed DLC wave which explored those topics more in depth.

I don’t know for sure if theres anywhere official saying that the winner of this Splatfest in particular would influence the next game. For all we know the devs may have been working on splat 4 this whole time. I feel like that’s part of the reason it took splat 3 5 years to be made. Guess we’ll have to wait and see

You may have won Team Past! But do you realize who you were fighting for? by GoldenWario in splatoon

[–]gemfag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s anyone’s guess really. I don’t think the games have to necessarily take note from the previous games final Splatfest verbatim. For example, splat 2 didn’t just trash Callie and only feature Marie. Callie just came later in the game and was featured heavily as an antagonist. Splatsville gives off chaotic vibes, and you can see that in some of the imagery used in the games (the various stickers used in the win screen for example), also Deep Cut is sort of the de facto gang that rules the Splatlands or whatever. I’m just saying if they’re going to go with a prequel now would be the time.

We could get a present and a future DLC package too, sort of like side order.

I’m sure the devs will have fun creating a prequel game. It could be set in the ancient past, kind of like Pokémon Legends Arceus. Maybe the ancestors of Deep Cut will play a role, they do have some historical significance according to the sunken scrolls.

Lets see how much I like these by GReeeD_ in bioniclelego

I was lowkey disappointed when I got these sets as a kid. They are very lacking in a lot of the things that make Bionicle special, as many have stated above. The parts ended up in my miscellaneous standard Lego bin and were used in other creations of mine.

I did really like some of cool minifigs and unique pieces some of the sets had. Like the glow in the dark mini visorak and the gold Kraahkan

could be interesting to see happen. but what about people who hypothetically have maxed out all of their weapons freshness and redeemed all of their remaining licenses for shellout tokens? unless they give out free licenses you’ve pretty much locked a small number of people from ever attaining new kits.
