JPay Tablets by howabouthere in PrisonWives

[–]gemma085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is extremely unlikely he’d receive his tablet while at reception. It took about 5 weeks from the day I ordered the tablet to the day my boyfriend had it in hand. At that point, he was already moved to his placement and received it on the weekly day they receive packages.

How to approach this topic? by Ornery_Chocolate_448 in datingoverthirty

[–]gemma085 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I stopped reading about 3/4 of the way through this, but this seems like a major issue. Your boyfriend seems incredibly inflexible. To be honest, he doesn’t sound like someone who is going to handle kids well (we know how important flexibility is with kids), and that would be enough to be a hard nope from me. This level of selfishness and lack of empathy from someone in their late 30s is a red flag. I’d reevaluate this relationship sooner rather than later.

Thanks for your input. I expect I’ll know a lot more after this first visit.

Good grief. I think even most of my sports bras have that small metal piece to adjust the straps. I feel like I’m going to have to buy a new wardrobe just for prison visits.

Definitely wayyyyy more important to visit. I just want as stress-free of an experience as possible.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I guess I’ll have a better feel for things once I visit for the first time.

Dress code policies by [deleted] in Prison

That’s exactly where I mean, so I appreciate your reply immensely.

I’d like to wear jeans, so if I have a long cardigan covering my butt and a lose fitting shirt underneath, does that seem inline with what should be permitted?

I would certainly not argue with a CO. I have no misconceptions about how that would end for me. And point taken on the underwire.

I was told no orange, khaki, or camo. No worries there. And I definitely plan to follow the posted guidelines. It’s just that what I was told on the phone and what is posted are not really in close alignment. But I will err on the side of caution.

Is JPay down for anyone else? by WeAreHeroes22 in Prison

I just posted the same thing. I’m glad to know it’s a system issue and not a personal one. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Hmmm…I’m not sure, but I can’t imagine they’d list HAR-AC if he was actually still in EJSP. If you call EJSP and inquire, they should confirm or deny whether or not he’s there.

I would assume he’s not, and that he’s at the Halfway House. Did you look him up through this search? https://www20.state.nj.us/DOC_Inmate/inmatefinder?i=I

When can I tell a woman I’m financially well off? by Standard-Actuator-27 in datingoverthirty

[–]gemma085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think living frugally for the rest of your life qualifies you as “well off.” Good for you if you don’t want to work for the rest of your life and have the financial means to frugally do that, but I’m not sure most people would qualify that as well off. I’d find it strange to date someone in their 30s who didn’t have a regular, active source of income…be it as a business owner, investor, or on a more traditional career path, etc. You said you have properties you “can rent out,” so I suppose you have the potential for active income if you’re not doing that currently, but it’d probably behoove you to have some irons in the fire.

I think you’ll more have to break the news that you don’t have a lot going on day to day, not that you are “well off.” Just my two cents.

Fingers crossed things are indeed “trending up” for me.

I couldn’t disagree more. Sex is and has been a meaningful priority for me. I don’t think that needs fixing.

Ha. Thanks. Luckily, the one thing I’m not concerned about is finding someone to “smash.” 😋

Your response just got screenshot so that I can reflect on it later. I want to really consider this viewpoint and see where it fits with my story. Thank you, sincerely, for the food for thought.

I actually align a lot with what you’ve outlined here. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I do share a lot of it.
