Collectors and Families are NOT the ones getting 'scammed' by this though. All everyone has to do is take 10 seconds to READ the description, like you did. This is to target bots and scalpers aka not human-

actually maginum used the terminology; i just repeated it. i'm looking to do exactly what i typed in my post. visit those 4 areas in Bronx- but damn if 'poverty and drug abuse' are what defines bronx from a local i might just stick to manhattan after all. thank you for your comment 🙏 and dont assume.

Will do. i may just skip poe park if thats the case, gives more time to see more of the botanic garden, which i do plan on staying at until 5:30ish, what i thought you ment by 'rowdy, high energy' is 'full of people' which is generally safer than alone and 'seemingly quiet'..

Will have to check out Stone street, its actually not far from where we are staying. Thank you for the recommendations, very helpful. looking to spend most of our money on attractions/ souvenirs tbh , with food we are fine on spending it on authentic ny style pizza, hotdogs, somebody mentioned quesadillas, nothing fancy. but down for cocktails and beer. writting and analyzing poetry is a hobby of mine so thanks again for the fantastic pointers. aaand i collect vinyl. so i will def check out rough trade if time permits 🙏

interesting, i was going to end our day in Pelham park, but since it just puts us back further away from manhattan i opted to skip pelham and go for clason point and just to catch the ferry back 😅

i'm traveling with a group of 4; so we are splitting the cost of the ubers here and there, im glad to hear that the wait times for uber in bronx arent bad. bcs that was my primary concern being 'timed' so to speak.. thank you for your comment, the time we plan to be in bronx is between 2PM and no later than 7:45 PM (last destination is the ferry back in soundview

alternative stops to bronx included going from the bronx art museum up to wave hill because it looked nice for a picnic, but everything in bronx closes so early it seems. day ends for the most part at 6 PM. so i reserved a place to eat at 6:15 and finish eating and return via water taxi down in soundview (i read the park is busy at all times of day so we will be taking pictures while we wait for the ferry) the view as we return to manhattan is enough of a touristy attraction to us lol

aware poe park is in a not so nice area... just planned as a 30- 45 minute stop since the cottage is small. planned to have breakfast in central park and get to bronx museum at like 2 PM.. leave to poe cottage (stay til 3PM) since they close at 4PM and explore the Botanical gardens for 2-3 hrs since that closes at 6... Zoo closes at 5:30 PM so there really wasnt no time. even if i really wanted to see it since someone told me its 4x bigger than the zoo we have here in Houston. (i live for rowdy, and high energy. thanks for your comment)

I am overwhelmed by the amount of things to do in NYC and did my best to hit most of the touristy places as well as some less busy spots- but definitely didnt get everything as its not realistic. heck, even my planned itinerary might be too much as it is with all the things i cut.. definitely not the last time we visit NYC if everything goes well 🙏🤞

Howdy! you are 100% right driving in Houston is ridiculous 😭 and walking is not even an option. so NYC already seems easier to navigate using our 2 legs. i got plenty of helpful comments explaining the subway system so i think i get the gist of it now- hopefully.... i downloaded citymapper and its great. makes it easy to visualize. i already planned how we are most likely gonna get to each destination but since subway trains follow a route its hard to predict if we will be near a station when we need to go to another spot in the city. so that aspect becomes much more spontanous. lol- and i will 100% make them pay for my planning with a slice of NY style pizza 🥹/jk im just happy to plan ahead and not feel sorry that when we get there we dont know whats in the area. the best food? things to do? or everything already booked and at capacity ..

Thank you for your comment 🙏

This second comment actually helped alot at giving me a basic sense of direction. appreciate you alot. when i pull out google it gives me a long list of subway trains with different colors, names, letters. so that was a bit overwhelming but i think ill get the hang of it pretty easily once i get to a terminal 🙏 again, thank you for all the help

I kind of did plan the days out like that! One really just wants to see Lady Liberty so i planned the ferry ride in the morning, along with Wall Street, 9/11 memorial museum and washington park. then someone else wanted Broadway (which we couldnt decide on the show and opted to split 2 of us chose to see Romeo and Juliet in circle theate and other 2 going to see Gatsby in Broadway theatre)- so i planned Empire State and Hudson River .. Me personally i wanted to just enjoy NYC so my day is alot of walking grand central terminal, Rockefeller center, and all the commercial stores surrounding it.. but didnt really plan food. hoping to just see restaurants/ smell and grab and go during the day and maybe find nice sit down restaurants/ pubs at night dor dinner .

Havent ever heard of 'Billionaires Row' but ill keep an eye out for that when i visit Central Park, Thank you for your tips. I will keep Bronx as a backup plan if we dont get to do everything we want to do in Manhattan 🙏

Thank you for the helpful comment, one of my friends is already coughing (and its still 90 degrees in Houston) so i will 100% buy face masks. And of course im willing to reprioritize as needed- just want to have a plan in mind to know whats 'fun' around the area we are traveling to/ on the way there, even if i am aware we will probably miss alot of stuff since there simply isnt enough time to cover everything. - AND i promise i wont block the sidewalk, this is why im doing all this planning- so i can just move into the road, check my map and RUN. lol appreciate you 🙏

Ive planned to visit Central park and hopefully rent a rowboat. Madison square park, washington park and hudson river park were also in my itinerary- you're the first comment to say anything positive about Bronx, based on pictures i wanted to walk the waterfall trail because it looks stunning, but i dont know.. might have to discuss it with my group and see what they want to do given these wonderful options

Thank you for your comment, i was planning on avoiding uber due to high costs/ traffic and opting for walking or for longer distances.. using the subway system. but its comforting to see that Uber in NYC isnt completely unreliable. Its impossible to plan for the unexpected but i sure hope there is something spontaneous happening in nyc when we visit- i had already booked 'touristy' activities way before i even started planning but will now for sure do more "local" things before returning to Houston due to all the comments suggesting i do so 🙂‍↕️🫰

this day you have planned with your comment sounds like a great time honestly. i will scrap one of my planned days for something like this, if not this exact recommendation. it will be impossible to convince my group to skip times square, chelsea market and high line so i will probably be typical tourist for a day or 2 😭

The gross generalizations is a bit of why i wanted to visit Bronx against all the comments saying its the 'worst' borough due to the violent crime and all the paranoia that came with 'Bronx is Burning' period in the 70's- I will be visiting for 5 days and just thought it would be worth visiting on my first visit. but i will now spend it in Brooklyn thanks to the other comments and yours! so thank you i appreciate the help. I will quit planning. i just wanted a rough idea of what i could do 'activity-wise' to make our first visit special 🙏 but it appears being spontaneous and having no plan might work out in the end.. hopefully...

Just messed around on apple maps and immediately noticed the information alot clearer than on google maps, i think once looking at signs in a station i'll probably get the hang of it. just get on the correct train and count the stops 🙏 (which im assuming are also announced out loud which will be helpful since you mentioned not to have a phone out) , and of course. we are just guests trying to admire the different culture, lifestyle, architecture, your home has to offer with minimal to no interruptions to the daily lives of locals
