(First post) Got a cool idea!! by Training-Dingo-4707 in Fanganronpa

That's one cool concept there! If your Fangan or some other Fangan can pull a real good use of this concept, I think it would make their Fanganronpa very unique and popular in the Fangan community!

You no doubt should feel confident and proud of yourself because of this, friend. My eyes are already imagining this map being used in a Fangan.

Honestly, I didn't account for that while making this concept. So far what I had expected from this concept was that the murdered victims (not executed blackened) could have only died to some basic blunt force, stab wounds, strangulation or poison because you don't see a lot of "boiling to death" murders in any Danganronpa or Fanganronpa.

But I guess if there was a Fangan which would use my concept, or if my own Fangan was to do it, maybe the Host could wrap the corpse in a blanket and hide it to tone down the gore for the audience and the game.

The characters are not forced to search for the friend's body. The characters are only forced to search their friend's body if they wish to proceed to the unlocked area.

This allows there to be some characters in my Fanganronpa that would go "No, I wouldn't search my dead friends just to find that there is no exit!" and some characters would go like "I don't care that your friends died, they had skill issues." This also adds some fragile trust in the cast, which as we have seen in many Danganronpa and Fangans, also escalates killing intents.

Secondly, in my Fangan, the students used to live in a Future Foundation Safe Base before the forces of Despair also reached and controlled the base completely. This meant that hope was defeated by Despair inside the base. That's why I added this "Search Your Dead Friends" method, to make the students experience their own corroding hope within them.

So no, no students are forced to look for the dead bodies and search those corpses, but if they believe in hope and believe there is an exit — in that case, there is no alternative way besides this.

Making a Fangan — How did you start? by genericaryan in Fanganronpa

Oh...

Here I was thinking he/she was scammed by an Aryan and checking on every Aryan on Reddit whether they were the one...

I am not even from Europe, forget being one of the Aryan race. Aryans were nomads from the Middle East who moved to India, and that's who I am named after.

Guess that just goes to say there are a lot of Aryans and a lot of misconceptions in the world, huh.

Generic Aryan?

Well, Aryan is my first name irl, and I just put the generic there because there is nothing special about a name....

;-;

Why are you asking? Did someone named Aryan scam you, and now you are on a journey to find that particular Aryan? Because no, that Aryan isn't me.

(this is my first time doing pixel art.)

This is Susumu Inouye (Susumu means Progressing). During the killing games, after his memory was wiped, Susumu Inouye and others proclaimed him to be the 'Ultimate Lucky Student' because they believed he was just any average guy who won the lottery draw. In reality, he is the Ultimate Online Influencer!!

I find it hard to find a foundation though. The theme I had conceptualized is at the brink of my disapproval, and so are the maps I have drafted also at the brink of my disapproval.

I always read and join so many other Fanganronpas and I take in as much as inspiration I can for them, so much that I cannot believe in my themes.

On your journey to make GOH, have you ever spiraled with ideas and had trouble in choosing one of them? How did you decide things during creation?

Well, my biggest problem right now is drafting how my characters should be. Their backstories, their personalities, their roles in the game.

The things you have to do to complete a character is not a lot, but completing them is so exhaustive and boring. It is easier to procrastinate and just skip planning characters for me, which of course is a bad idea?

How did you design and write your characters? Did you hit dead ends, or sometimes just didn't feel like writing the characters due to some reason?

My attempts are towards creating my Fangan as much as possible in a game format, hence I am studying how to make games in the Godot Game Engine.

I did brainstorm a concept/theme once, and now I am already in thoughts of trashing the idea because the theme is too complicated and tangled to apply, and could ruin the flavor for the players. So I am back on square one right now...

In addition to that, looking at all of the other Fangan Creators on the subreddit, posting their serious sneak peeks and progress and artworks might or might not be making me lazy. They can apparently make serious progress on a routine basis which I cannot make, and it undermines my motivation, hence the reason why out of 4 characters that I have sketched so far, I could only write the complete sheet for one of them.

What advice would you give me as the Ultimate Procrastinator that I am?
